Van Helsing

"I don't know," Hannah started, the warmth of Edward helping. "Beatrice's blood just... burst into the air. Lots of it."

 

"Blood? Beatrice's?" Edward snapped, pulling away from Hannah and running over to the carriage, getting Van Helsing's gun. "It's Lestat, I know it," he muttered to her. "Stay here!"

He turned and ran into the trees, his eyes adjusting to the dark immediately, the gun raised.

Come out, you son of a b.itch, he snarled in his mind. Hannah's right not to trust you... what the hell did you do?

 

Van Helsing considered firing his gun into the shadows just as a precaution, but then stopped and thought better; it was a vampire, not a werewolf, and Carl always hated it when he wasted silver bullets.

"Hannah!" he cried now, looking down at Beatrice. "Get over here! Now!"

 

Nothing she didn't want, Lestat crooned, hearing Edward nearby. He smiled at the pain his voice caused in the werewolf's head. I'm surprised you're so angry, what with your head just starting to heal... what do you want? Revenge? You can't kill me, boy. Trust me in that instance, at least.

 

Hannah fought with herself whether to stay or go for only a moment. She was next to Van Helsing with a bit of hesitation. She thought of holding her breath, but when she saw Beatrice she knew it wasn't needed. She looked at Van Helsing and then back at Beatrice, her eyes back to blue. She knelt down in front of Beatrice.

Beatrice opened her eyes and looked at Hannah. She was lost for words.

Hannah locked eyes with Beatrice, not wanting to look at the blood. "Beatrice..."

Beatrice threw her arms around Hannah and held on to her. "Hannah, I..."

"It's okay." Hannah tried to sound convincing.

 

Van Helsing finally dropped his arm. "What do we do?" he asked Hannah, at a loss.

 

Tell me, Edward demanded through the pain. Tell me now. How do I kill John?I need to get to him soon, before he gets too stong of a hold on Hannah.

 

In time, Lestat smiled. My only advice is let Hannah go to him alone if he wants to see her again. That would be in ALL of our best interests. Agreed?

 

Edward sighed, and then aquiesed: Fine, Lestat. Have it your way. If I trust you, you'll give me what I want, is that right?

 

Yes, Lestat muttered, and then jumped out of the shadows, grabbing Edward by the neck, lifting him feet off the ground, grinning at his own strength. But do anything besides what I say... he began dangerously, his smile widening when Edward shrunk back in fear, and I will kill all of you. First John... then her... then you. Understood, boy?

 

"Keep her away from Lestat." Hannah answered Van Helsing. "He is to her what John is to me." She stood up, gently pulling Beatrice to her feet. "I'm sorry, Beatrice. I don't think it would have been different if I went with you though."

Beatrice still clung to Hannah.

Hannah detached herself from Beatrice. "We need to go."

 

"What will you do with her?" Van Helsing asked Hannah. "I... I don't have a clue. I usually kill them right now, so..."

 

Edward nodded, unable to speak. Lestat smiled and let him down, stepping back and bowing graciously.

Keep her close when you can, Edward, he murmured, his words soft instead of fire in his mind. But realize there will be times when you have to let her go...

Then he was gone.

 

"I don't know...," Hannah admitted. "But I'm not going to let Lestat take her. I'll help her I guess." She suggested, feeling guilty.

 

OOC: ^.^ i hate u guys. XD but it's a happy hate. that was all very kick ass writing

BIC: Jinx ran up to Beatice and Hannah. "What happened?" she asked, quickly.

 

"Lestat happened," Van Helsing muttered. "Do you know how to take care of her, Jinx?" He tried to keep the pleading, helpless tone out of his voice, but was sure she could hear it anyway.

 

Edward gasped, flexing his fingers over his throat and walking toward the clearing he knew wasn't far away; he could hear Van Helsing's voice.

 

Jinx looked at Beatice, taking in what was wrong. She did hear how useless Van Helsing like he felt in his voice and gave him a kind glance before answering. "I don't know exactly, but I'm guessing she'll need to eat and she'll need to not be tempted by human blood..."

Carl joined them, "is she okay?" he asked, seeing everyone looking freaked out.

 

Hannah cursed, grabbed Beatrice's wrist, and wasted no time getting her away from Carl.

"No, Hannah, wait!" Beatrice protested.

"Shut your eyes and think of something else." Hannah ordered, reaching the carriages. What kind of timing what that, Carl?! She fumed, keeping her hold on Beatrice.

Beatrice did as Hannah told her, but her newly heightened sensed didn't allow her to forget Carl's smell.

 

"Good job, Carl," Van Helsing sighed. "Now she's going to love the smell of you way too much... in a bad way," he added seriously.
