Van Helsing

"What on earth do you think they're doing up there?" Van Helsing asked. "I wonder if I want to know..."

 

"Oh I'm sure you don't want to, it's horrible really. This crazy vampire thing called 'sitting'." Jinx retorted sarcasticly, pretending to shudder, "Just gruesome, the very thought!"

 

"I see!" Van Helsing replied. "But wait!" He gasped, putting a hand to his heart in mock-shock. "You're doing it right now! Should I be terrified?"

 

"Oh yes, insainty really. I don't know why you guys let such a monster hang around with you." Jinx nodded, her expression ful pity.

 

"Well, I keep Hannah around for Edward's sake," Van Helsing spoke with a small smile. "And you entertain me, so... there you go!" He laughed loudly, hoping Carl could hear him.

 

Jinx jumped down falling hard onto the seat next to him, hoping to startle him. She leaned an elbow on the back of the seat and her head in her hand. "I 'entertain' you?" she asked, amused. "I 'entertain' you... uh huh... not the most politically correct choice of words to use on a vampire, Mr. Van Helsing." she knocked the front of his hat down to cover his face and hopped back ontop of the carrige again.

Carl did hear and he heard Jinx's reply, both leaving hiim laughing his fool head off.

 

Van Helsing frowned, pulling his hat off his head and smacking Jinx across the arm with it.

"I'm sorry to have offended the lady," he snapped, emphasizing the last word unnecessarily with a smile. "But I think you enjoy entertaining me and vice-versa, so... we don't have much reason to argue, do we?"

 

"Who's arguing?" Jinx asked, kicking him lightly in the back and smiling innocently. "I'm meerly being 'entertaining'."

Carl was listening intently to their banter and started cracking up once again.

 

"I apologize," Van Helsing spoke, trying to look sincere through his grin. "I'm just in the bad habit of being used to hearing you argue instead of entertain."

BIC:"No need to apologize." Jinx grinned at him, having fun being a little basackwards in her words, "If I really have been so 'entertaining', as you say, you must enjoy being aruged with. So it's one in the same, if you think about it." she glanced over at where Carl was sitting and listened for a moment. "And," she added, hearing him laugh, "I believe the one we're really entertaining is our friair. I think he's getting a kick out of us."

 

OOC: Oh, yes, I know you love it! me and my vampire-master man are just cool like that! :D

BIC: Van Helsing swallowed another laugh. "Yes, Carl is... enjoying himself, I think. I've know him for a long time, and you have to realize that... this... is very odd and unusual for me, so he's a little shocked and amused at the same time."

 

Hannah tensed. "No, Edward." She exhaled, trying to get rid of her sudden ridgedness. "I'm mad at myself. You can't imagine the feeling we get from doing that.... I hate it. I just wish I could change back...."

 

"Hey," Edward laughed, trying not to chuckle under his breath. "Let's not worry about things like that that can't be changed. I don't mean to dismiss your feelings, but I'm actually... happy for you, in a way when you do... sorry," he muttered, fading off, knowing that he must sound stupid.

Why does she put up with me? he thought suddenly. With all her negative emphasis on what she is, how can she ever dream of being around me once this Dracula trip is over?

 

Hannah relaxed more, a smile playing on her lips. "You're lucky you're a werewolf." She looked up to meet his eyes. "Otherwise this would be very hard for me."

 

Edward smirked. "Are you really saying that you're not tempted by me at all?" he muttered. "There goes my self-esteem."

 

Hannah's smile widened. "Would you rather I be? I don't think you'd like me as much if I was."

 

"You'd be surprised," Edward smiled, lowering his voice. "And," he added, "I even though I can tell what's in your head, there's something you can keep from me, depending on whether you've made up your mind or not."

Hannah tilted her head, her bright blue eyes curious. "Why's that?"

 

Edward sighed, shaking a wet lock of hair out of his eyes. "This may so absoutely stupid, but I'll say it anyway: your thoughts in your head aren't always the true feelings of your heart. And, unfortunately, out of the two, I can only see your mind. The rest is up to what you actually say aloud to me. Does that make sense?"
