Van Helsing

Jinx nodded, "So, I went where he told me. I killed who he said..." she avoided Van Helsing's eyes and flinched at the memories. "That went on for as long as I was what we call a 'newborn'. Newborns are so strong, so fast, so full of bloodlust because of their own blood inside of them. It lasts for about a year usually. It lasted 6 months for me, because he accidently drank more of my blood than he ment to, I guess he was thristy." she shrugged and went on. "I ate once a week, we'd move around and he'd tell me who to kill. Everytime I came home he'd always be there smiling, hugging me, telling me he loved me." her expression turned hateful. "Then it ended. And I didn't even see it coming. We went to a cliff to watch the sun set. He told me to stay there, that he'd be right back." she klenched her fists, lost in the memory, "I waited a week, and then they came. The werewolves. I heard them say... say 'Another newborn, right on time as always.' I was in love, I wasn't stupid though. I knew what had happened, I had outlived my usefulness, so he was getting ride of me." her jaw tightened and she stopped again.

 

"I'm sorry," Van Helsing began, trying to be sincere. "I didn't know that was what they did."

 

"I don't care!" Edward exclaimed, walking over to stand over Elijah, his gun still aimed at the man's head. "I dont care if you already drained half his blood out of him or he already killed you! It doesn't matter; I told him if he ever came here again I would kill him without a second thought! He asked for it himself!"

 

"Who?" Jinx asked, suddenly snapped out of her thoughts. "The werewolves or that... that... eh, Will?"

 

Hannah was next to Edward in a flash, her hand on his arm that held the gun. "Edward," She didn't know what she wanted to say. Part of her wanted to see Elijah dead more than anything, but the other part, her human part perhaps, couldn't just stand by and let him be killed.

 

"Both," Van Helsing said. "I never knew... I mean, is that the way everyone does it?"

 

"What?" Edward asked, shrugging off her hand. "What do you want me to do? He deserves to die."

 

Jinx shook her head, laughing. "No. Just him. And they just took what was there, easy targets." she explained. "Well, most are. I guess none of the other newborns had sence enought to jump." she smirked although her expression was still pained.

 

"I know that." Hannah said. "But can you blame him for wanting to kill me? I'm a monster, Edward."

 

Elijah stared at the two. How can she defend me?

 

"I'm sorry that happened to you, really," Van Helsing replied. "I know it's hard for me to sound sincere and all, but I am. Tell me what you were like before... before Will."

 

"Oh, Hannah," Edward muttered, another growl rising in his throat. "You have no idea how much I want to kill him right now!"

 

Jinx thought back, her fists, jaw, and expression relaxing. "I... was always in another world, in my head. I used to be good at hiding myself from others so I could be in those worlds. I think that's why I can use glamors now." she sighed, "I daydreamed my human years away." she admitted.

 

Hannah turned her back. "Then just do it."

 

Elijah's shock was replaced by anger. "You little b*tch." He drew his gun and fired into Hannah's back.

 

"You didn't know they'd be cut short," Van Helsing insisted. "Don't blame yourself for what you lost. Is... is Will still around?"

 

"I don't know, probably. He'll have gotten himself a new newborn." Jinx looked hurt but even she didn't understand why it should hurt her. "He'll leave them to die too, again and again..." she sighed, "It's his skill that makes it so hard too, maybe I would have seen it coming if he hadn't be so good at what he does?" she shook her head. "so, I've killed humans, lots of them. Why aren't you mad?" she asked, curiously.

 

Edward knelt down swiftly, grabbing the front of Elijah's shirt and pulling his face close to his. Edward put the gun to Elijah's temple, and, holding the man's gaze, and pulled the trigger. The bullet exploded half of the man's head, spraying Edward's face with blood, gore, and brain matter. Edward stood and fired last three bullets into the man's throat, coating his boots red as well.

He sighed and stepped back, his whole body shaking. He put the back of his hand holding the gun to his mouth, the bloody mess that was Elijah making his stomach rise. Turning and rushing over to the nearest hay pile, Edward wretched out what little food was inside his stomach.

 

"I like you, for some reason," Van Helsing said with a small smile. "Do you know where this Will is? I should love to meet him."

 

Jinx shook her head. "I dont' know, for one thing, we moved so much I know he could be anywhere. And for another thing... I don't want you to meet him, for some reason." she bit her lip, confused by her own thoughts.
