Van Helsing

"You told me, and, oddly enough, Carl, the story about the night you became a vampire. But I had a feeling that wasn't the whole story. Maybe, since we're alone now, you can tell me the rest?" Van Helsing asked, careful not to be pushy or rude.

 

"Oh...that." Jinx frowned. "You won't want to hear it." she said, dryly

 

Elijah pulled Hannah up by her cloak and held her against the wall. "I can do this quickly," His eyes glistened. "or I could draw it out for you." He kept his hand over her mouth.

 

Hannah glared at Elijah. Going against her better judgment, she nicked his hand with her fangs. When he drew his hand back, she kicked him squarely in the gut, sending him into the opposite wall. "Don't treat me like a weakling." She snarled. "I could very well kill you right now."

 

Elijah put a hand on the back of his head, glad it wasn't bleeding. "But you won't. You can't." He knew he'd gotten her there by the look her face. "I'm right, aren't I?"

 

"I'd like to, actually," Van Helsing said as they walked around the colisseum. "For some reason I'm very interested."

 

Edward headed back toward the stables, figuring that was where Hannah and Beatrice would still be if they didn't decide to go out yet.

Werewolf venom will kill Dracula? he mused, still amazed. That means Van Helsing just has to get the b.astard to a point where I bite him, and...

Edward shook his head as he walked, deep in his thoughts.

 

Jinx was silent for a few minutes and then she looked at Van Helsing seriously, "Okay, but don't be angry and please don't murder me." she warned, "You have to understand that I never hurt humans anymore." she waited for his reaction to make sure it was okay to tell the whole story

 

Hannah showed Elijah her fangs. "If it comes to it I will."

 

Elijah stood. "I'll take your word on that. So one of us is not going to walk away from here. I don't intend it to be me." He threw a stake at Hannah.

 

Hannah moved too quickly for a human to see; she was at the end of the barn in a second, the stake in the wall where she had stood before. "I may not be the best, but I can take you."

 

Van Helsing sighed, and, against his better judgement, said, "I won't. Don't worry."

 

Edward rounded the corner to the stables, and then stopped when he heard voices. He pulled Van Helsing's gun out of his belt, pulling back the hammer and creeping around the side of the stables to look inside.

 

"Okay, so where was I? oh yeah, so I woke up from all the pain and he was the first thing I saw. I thought he was God or the devil for a moment." Jinx laughed humourlessly. "I was so sure after all that pain, I couldn't be alive, plus I didn't have a heart beat. But he explained everything to me, comforted me, held me, and generally made me feel like i had something to hang onto. But then it set in... my blood lust. And he told me where to go, he told me who to look for." she lookd at Van Helsing, apprehensivly.

 

Elijah looked at the stake in the wall and then at Hannah. "I'll admit that was impressive." He looked down at his palm and the cut made by Hannah's fangs. He smirked and held out his palm, letting the blood drip. "How long can you resist this site and smell?"

 

Hannah's stomach churned. She clenched her jaw and balled her fists. "Don't..." She said through grit teeth. "Don't tempt me. Put your hand in your pocket before I kill you."

 

Edward felt a growl rise in his stomach as he heard Elijah's voice. That b.astard really doesn't know what's good for him, does he?

Edward stepped around the edge of the stable, the gun level with Elijah. "I told you to stay away!" he shouted, and fired two shots, one into each of Elijah's knee caps.

 

"Go ahead," Van Helsing said, still unaware why he was listening or caring so much.

 

Elijah collapsed, yelling in pain.

 

Hannah covered her nose as the scent of blood grew stronger. Her mind was starting to fog with the thoughts she tried not to think. "Edward, I was handling things fine!"
