Van Helsing

Jinx watched them, also ready to jump in if they needed help. Oh gods, please don't let anyone die, not even that stupid boy.

 

Elijah kept his voice steady, "She tried... to kill my sister.... She's a monster.... and you know it. Why... do you defend her...?" He was a bit surprised at Edward's strength. The only reason I can think of is that's he's a vampire too.

 

"I'm not like her in that respect," Edward growled, finding himself growing angrier no matter what the man said. "She didn't mean to come near your silly little sister. Now," Edward reached down and wrenched Elijah's gun out of his hand, tossing it over in Van Helsing's direction. "Take back what you said or go."

He couldn't bring himself to kill the man, at least not right now. Despite all the anger running through his veins, he couldn't shoot a disarmed man...

 

"I take it back." Elijah clenched his jaw. Great. Now I've got to go through the trouble of finding her again. AND she's going to be out of the city.

 

"Follow us and I will do worse than this gun could ever do, understand?" Edward snapped, suddenly shoving Elijah away from him. "Get out!"

 

Elijah turned and gave Edward a questioning look. "Hannah's a popular girl," He murmured. "Keep a close watch on her if you care so much." Not bothering to get his gun, he stalked out of the stables.

 

Edward sighed, lowering his gun. That man doesn't deserve to live, he thought visciously. But I'm not as coldhearted as him...

 

Hannah ran back to Edward. "You're insane!" She scolded, but then smiled. "Thank you."

BIC: Jinx walked out after her, not having anything to say she just sat down on a pile of hay and listened to them.

BIC: Edward wrapped an arm around Hannah as he put Van Helsing's gun back into the fold of his belt.

"You're welcome," he said. "I knew you wouldn't go far... oh," he added, turning to Van Helsing. "You don't mind me holding on to this thing, do you? I don't have and don't know how to use any other form of a weapon... and this isn't hard to learn..."

 

Van Helsing nodded, stepping out from behind the stall. "I don't mind. Just know it will do nothing at all to dracula. But it would be better if Carl could bring you a crucifix or something."

 

Hannah shuddered. "Speaking of Carl... He's not going to... do anything to Jinx or me, is he?

 

Jinx broke in to answer, "Of course not, he's scared stiff of Van Helsing, and maybe us a little too." she laughed.

 

"Now, ladies," Van Helsing said, walking over to Jinx. "We don't want to frighten the brains of our group, do we? We need Carl... for what reasons exactly, I have no idea, but... we will need him."

 

"Hey, like I said, I think you scare him more than we do." Jinx grinned at him, "Of course we won't scare him off, it's nice having as many humans not trying to kill us as possible." she smiled at Hannah, "right?"

 

What are we going to do for the rest of the day? Edward thought. Wait for this friar? I have no idea...

 

"Right," Hannah agreed. "But is he okay with... us?"
