Van Helsing

Jinx could tell he was getting closer. "Come on, please, let's go." she tried to persuade them. "We can't risk anyone getting hurt. Remember, Dracula?"

 

"Uh," Van Helsing mused, taking out his other gun and checking the bullets. "Well, we'll see who's the better hunter by the end of it. Ladies," he announced now. "I think it would be best if you take the horses out of here and get under cover. I think Edward and I have a new friend to make."

 

"Don't?" Edward repeated, walking over to Hanah. "Why not?"

 

"Why do we have to fight him? Someone will get shot and then we'll have to spend another day or more trying to fix whoever that is up...." Jinx pointed out but stopped, she could tell Elijah was very close and she glowered. "Too late...." she muttered.

 

Hannah looked up at Edward. "I told you: he has silver bullets. I don't want to see you hurt again."

 

Beatrice took Lexi's reigns. "Hannah... I think Van Helsing is right. We should go now." Sorin stayed close to Beatrice ready to follow without being led.

 

Van Helsing went into Sorin's stall, kneeling down and pulling off his hat so only the top of his head and the tip of his gun were visible. "Not time to argue," he hissed at Edward.

 

"What do you want me to do?" Edward replied nonetheless. "After what that bastar.d did, I'll take all his bullets, Hannah. Don't you understand? Now, go with Beatrice and get out of the way!"

 

Hannah stood slowly. "Be safe." She said softly to Edward. She followed Beatrice outside with the horses through the back door of the stables.

 

Sorin plodded close to Beatrice. "He'll be okay, I'm sure." Beatrice told Hannah.

 

Elijah stopped by the inn. Hmm... this is where she went last night, but Angelyn said she was headed towards the stable.

 

Jinx rocked on her heels for a moment, glowering at the two men and hating their egos, but she soon followed the girls and horses. "If either of you get's shot, I'll kill you." she warned them, angrily. Idiots...

 

"See anything, Edward?" Van Helsing asked.

 

Edward shook his head, moving to crouch behind the hay stacks that Van Helsing had sat in a few minutes ago.

"No," he said aloud. "But she'll come here and so will he eventually... I don't know how they know that she'd be here, but they do."

 

Elijah headed to the stables. "Hannah," He called quietly, knowing he wouldn't have to be loud for her to hear. "What are you doing out during the day?" His tone was mocking. "You can't hide, Hannah." He drew his gun, ready to fire at the first thing that moved.

 

Edward recognized the man's voice, and leaned to try and find a crack in the hay so he could see where he stood. Elijah's boots passed close to the hay, and Edward tensed, glad he had already cocked the gun. When the man's boots were just past Edward's hay stack, he sprung up suddenly, wrapping his arms around the man's neck, slamming the gun against his throat.

"Try and give me one good reason not to blow you apart from the neck up right now," Edward hissed in the man's ear, struggling to keep him still.

 

"You must be Edward." Elijah choked out. "You want a reason? I'm sorry to say that the only one I have is to kill your girlfriend. You know what she'll do. What she tried to do to my sister. Why leave her alive?"

 

Hannah listened closely to what was going on. She was ready to step in at the first gunshot.

 

Oh, don't do anything too stupid, Edward, Van Helsing thought, ready to move at any second if he needed to help Edward.

 

"She's not a bad person," Edward hissed, pushing the gun harder against the man's throat, making him gag even more. "She's leaving the city for God's sake! You'd don't know a thing about her... say one more word against her and I will have no guilt about pulling this trigger."
