Van Helsing

Hannah sat on the ground, her hands in her lap. It better not be something that'll do worse.

 

The old woman gave Jinx a grin that would have frozen her blood if she had any. "Yes, dear. I have something for you indeed. But what would such a pretty younge lady want with such horrid things like sins?" she asked, staring hard into Jinx's eyes.
"What do you have?" Jinx asked, not letting the woman distract her. This made the witch frown but she went into a back room and came back with a small box that sounded as if it were full of metal objects. Jinx could almost feel something evil about them, but it was faint so she relaxed.
"Anything in this box, should do it for you, dear. All filled with little sins." she grinned again. Jinx nodded and opened the box. There were many small charms, portraying small sins and symbols of things she didn't quite understand.
"Thank you." she smiled slightly at the woman, holding a snake wrapped around a tree with fruit. The charm was ice cold to her, just as the cross had been hot to Hannah. She payed quickly and hurried out of the house.
"Here you go, a little sin for your hands." Jinx smiled, holding out the charm for Hannah and removing the glamor from her hands.

 

Hannah grimmiced but took the charm anyway. The sheer coldness of the charm added to the burning on her hand. "Ow, jeez, what do this do?"

 

Jinx sighed and took Hannah's hand and the charm. "What do you think? The same as what was done with the cross." she pressed the charm onto the marks on each hand. At first the charm only seemed to freeze in it's own mark but once it was lifted from her hand, the two marks seemed to fight each other until both disapeared. "Yep, there you go. Good as new." she smiled, as if pleased with herself, at Hannah. "Do you want to keep it?"

 

Hannah stood up. "I guess so. We might have need for it again."

 

"Well, if you need me to go and buy another at some point. It would be a... well not a pleasure, but not a problem, kay?" Jinx smiled, "So, are you still 'not hungry'? Because I'm going to go insane if I don't eat something soon and, like I said before, it's an open invite."

 

Hannah sighed. "Alright, I'll come.... I really don't like this though." She mumbled the last part.

 

"Well, it's either hunt animals, or people. Sorry about that, but it is your choice of which." Jinx replied, trying to be sympethic. She started to run, heading towards the forest, her feet silent on the ground now as she focused on the sents and sounds around her.

 

Hannah started to follow Jinx, but the smell from earlier that day caught her attention. Her eyes flashed gold and she turned around to track the scent. She was quickly back at the center of Vatican City, her eyes locked on the source of the scent: a girl, no older than 15 by the smell. Her head fogged with one desire: the girl's blood. Hannah took a quick look around, seeing that no one was there, she fixed her eyes on her target once more and she moved so quickly she appeared to have teleported next to the girl. Her arms held the girl stil and she quickly moved one hand to the girl's mouth. Once statisfied that the girl was too frightened, Hannah could feel her pulse quicken, Hannah removed her hand from the girl's mouth and used it to push the hair away from her neck.

"Get away from my sister!" A gunshot echoed in the empty night air; the bullet landing the pavement at Hannah's feet. "Now, Hannah!" Elijah kept the gun trained on Hannah, not knowing if he wanted to fire so close to Angelyn.

It wasn't fear that corsed through Hannah after the gunshot, it was anger. She stared right back at Elijah with feirce golden eyes. Nothing was making clear sense anymore, all Hannah knew was that she was hungry, and Angelyn smelled oh-so-good. They only thing the bullet accomplished was Hannah holding Angelyn tighter.

"Hannah!" Elijah yelled. "Let my sister go." His voice was softer, but it held just as much force. "Please, Hannah." He lowered the gun and started moving slowly towards Hannah.

Hannah stiffened. "Stay away." She hissed.

Elijah stopped close enough to touch Hannah if he reached out. "Once more, Hannah: let her go."

Hannah took a small step back, keeping her hold on Angelyn.

Elijah raised his gun and fired, before he could regret it, into Hannah's shoulder.
Hannah's eyes flashed back to light blue, and she released Angelyn, the shock ebbed away. She screamed, falling to her knees and clutching her shoulder.

Angelyn ran to Elijah, shaking and crying. "I'm sorry.... I'm sorry! I'll never stay out late again."

Elijah put his arm around his sister, keeping his gun raised. He should have shot Hannah dead the first time, but something held him back. "Shh," He told Angelyn, both caring and ordering.

Hannah stared up at Elijah, clenching her jaw as she dug out the bullet. She let the bullet drop to the ground as he wound slowly started to heal and she cursed at Elijah. Silver bullets don't kill vampires, you bloody idiot. She thought.

Elijah let go of Angelyn and stood right next to her. "I told you to let her go." He said in a steely voice. "I should have killed you when I found you. Hannah, there's something more to you than most vampires."

Hannah stood up, her face and Elijah's almost touching. "Damn right."

 

Jinx picked up the shot and the scream. ":censor:" she spat, turning on her heal and running towards the group. "Hannah what in the Gods are you doing?" she practically yelled, trying hard to control her voice as she saw Hannah's arm healing from a bullet. Her eyes flashed from one face to the others. "You didn't..." she breathed, realization spreading over her face as her eyes locked on Angelyn. (OOC: *is cracking up*)

Elijah changed the gun's aim to Jinx. "Stay back."

Hannah went to Jinx, grabbed her arm, sweared at Elijah again, and then starting running with Jinx back to the inn. "Don't ask me anything." She said softly.

 

Jinx pulled her arm away from Hannah, her eyes flashing, "Fine." she growled, "But I'm still going hunting. I suggest you do the same while you still have a sliver of self control." she turned away from Hannah and started to run, trying to keep her focus on her sences instead of the terrified look of that girl.

 

Hannah came to a stop, considering Jinx's words. Being a foul mood already, she ignored Jinx and head back to the inn. She entered the room quietly so as not to wake anyone.

 

Jinx couldn't put aside the look on the girl's face but soon she found what she was looking for anyway. A bear was sleeping in it's den and she slowly crept up to it, silently. I am sorry, she thought to the bear, watching it sleep, But I hope you reach bear heaven anway. she suddenly lept foward and bit the bear at it's throaght. It roared and she grabbed it's mouth, quieting it, before biting it once more to kill it. After a few minutes she stood up, no longer thristy, and started to run back to the inn, glad at least that her glamor hid the little bit of blood that had spattered on her.

 

Edward sat up, only being half asleep already. Being able to see perfectly in the dark, he could see Hannah's outline just inside the door.

"Come over here," he whispered, looking over at Van Helsing and the others. They were all still asleep.

Hannah pulled her hair over her shoulders out of habbit and also to conceal the wound that was still healing. Hearing Edward's voice froze her. She didn't want to talk now; not about what had just happened. She was hoping they'd all be alseep so she could have the rest of the night to think of something to say. She wanted to be alone, but with Edward at the same time. Slowly, she mad her way to him, making no noise. "Edward...."

 

Jinx reached the inn and walked quietly up to the room. She ignored Hannah, still feeling disgusted with her, and went to the bathroom to clean herself up.

 

"Just come over here and lay down," Edward whispered back, beckoning her over. "No talking till morning if you want."
