Van Helsing

Beatrice tentativly took Jinx's hand. "I'm Beatrice."

 

Jinx felt her being hesatient so she didn't hold on long to her hand. "Nice to meet you, Beatrice." she smiled at her, politely

 

"She wanted to 'walk,'" Van Helsing replied. "I told her to come back, but she enjoys being on her own, I guess..."

 

"It's dark out here!" Edward said. "She shouldn't be on her own!"

Angered when Van Helsing only shrugged, Edward turned to walk in the direction Hannah had been.

Is she mad or something? he thought. She knows it's dangerous out here at night, no matter how strong she may be if she transformed...

 

Hannah looked up at the sky, part of her wanting to be in it. Her stomach rumbled and jerked her back. So either Edward 'heard my thought' or I'm getting more crazy by the day. I've told him all about myself, and I haven't heard a thing about him. I should just leave it. If he wants to talk to me about it, he will. If I bother him, we might get in another little fight... or a bigger one. She starting pacing. I can't stand to see him that way... and I hate being the way I am... None of this is fare.

 

"You too." Beatrice managed a smile. "So... Why are you traveling with Van Helsing?"

 

"Edward!" Van Helsing yelled, but the other man didn't come back. "Forget it..." he mumbled, and sat once more, pulling his hat down and getting his gun out of its holster. He pulled out a rag and began to clean it, remembering Edward still had the other one.

 

"Hannah?" Edward called out, not able to see that well at all, his arms held slightly out in front of him so he wouldn't bump into a tree. "You really should come back now. I know you can see, but it would be safer if you just came back with me..."

 

"Hm, good question. I'm still trying to answer it." Jinx laughed. "How about you?"

 

"Just trying to help, I guess." Beatrice said.

 

Hannah turned at the sound of Edward's voice. Looks like my time's up. She'd forgotten how dark things were to the others. "I'm fine." She said, going over to him. "There's nothing out here."

 

"That's good." Jinx nodded, "Nice, honest reason too. Very cool." she prodded the fire with a stick to make it light bigger.

 

"Sorry," Edward said, lowering his vocie now he was next to her. "You just never seemed okay after the ride from the castle."

 

"I am okay." Hannah assured him. "I just don't like long rides is all."

 

Beatrice lowered her voice. "I'm a bit scared, honestly. This Dracula guy is supposed to be the vampire of vampires. No one's been able to kill him for nearly 400 years."

 

Jinx nodded, "So goes the tale. But don't be afraid. You have two vampires, two werewolves, and one vampire\werewolf hunter on your side."

 

"I can hear you two, you know," Van Helsing said with a grin, not looking up from his gun.

 

"Oh," Edward began lamely. "I see." He paused, thinking what he could say. "I... still get the feeling there's something wrong, but if you don't want to talk about it, that's fine. I'd just rather you come back to the fire with me, if that's alright."

 

"Good, your ears work." Jinx replied, looking over at him.

 

Beatrice stiffled a laugh.
