Van Helsing

Edward growled, seeing Aleera head for Beatrice. He lept at the bride, catching her midair and knocking them into the nearest pillar, scattering the floor and everyone on it with bits of stone.

He howled as she tried to rip her claws along his chest, and he struggled away from her enough to only have her nails scathe the surface of his skin, which was breaking free of its clothes to transform into fur.

"Edward!" Van Helsing cried, and the werewolf looked down at the man firing at Verona as she tried to escape his range. "Not yet! You need to control yourself!"

 

Hannah stayed rooted to where she stood. "You will pay the price if he is harmed." She said, her voice dangerously low.

Aleera slashed at Edward again. "So you're the one she talks about. All she says is how much she wishes you were dead."

 

"Edward, don't listen to her, Hannah would never say that!" Jinx warned him, running up the stairs to get to Hannah. I hope you can keep him calm, Van Helsing. she smelled the air, taking turns left and right depending on where the brides' trail lead.

 

Edward ignored Van Hesling and slid down the pillar, pinning Verona against it still, crunching bits of stone all over the corridor. He picked her up by a clawed, furred hand and smashed her against the nearest wall, knocking all the wind out of her.

"It's unwise for a powerful werewolf to care for a vampire," Verona managed to choke out. "She belongs to Dracula n--"

Edward cut off her sentence with a loud, deep, piercing howl. Verona manged to free one of her hands and slash her claws at his cheeks, ripping deep lines across his face, almost catching his left eye. He howled again, and, with whatever instinct was now hot in him, grabbed Verona's throat with his jaws.

She screamed, but he tightened his grip, making her skin crack and blood rush from her mouth. "S-stop..." she tried to speak, but Edward clenched his teeth in deeper.

Edward pulled away, taking half of Verona's throat with him. Van Helsing turned as Edward spat out the gory piece of flesh and howled. He fired the rest of his round of arrows into the thrashing, writhing Verona on the ground, and she was still.

 

Van Hesling turned from Edward and Verona, who was now disintergrating into a pile of dust. Aleera was circling Beatrice, ready to strike.

 

Hannah had a sickening feeling in her gut. I want to look, but I don't at the same time....

Aleera screeched at an earsplitting level. "Verona!" She wheeled to face Van Helsing. "Rose will die for what you did!" She flew toward Van Helsing, getting dangerously close to his bow, before sharply going upwards and back to Dracula.

Hannah was a bit surprised to see only one bride return. "Too hard to handle?"

Aleera's vampire appearance disappeared as she went for Hannah. "You have cost two of us our lives!" She yelled, gripping Hannah's throat and backing her against a wall.

 

Jinx ran into the room, ignoring Dracula, and rammed her blade into Aleera's back. "Get your hands off Hannah!" she hissed, leaving the dagger in her back and attemting to pull her off Hannah.

 

Aleera yanked the knife out and hit Jinx away, the wound healing easily. She turned back to Hannah. "You're not getting anymore special treatment."

Hannah tried to prize Aleera's hand off her neck but was denied the pleasure.

 

Jinx jumped right back up and this time grabbed Aleera's wrists and pried them off Hannah, forcing her back. She stood between the two. "I said hands off." she repeated.

 

"Beatrice," Van Helsing began, desperate to follow Jinx as he heard her and Hannah and Aleera scream at one another. "Go into Lexi's saddlebag and grab all my anti-vampire things... understand? Holy water, arrow clips, crosses... and follow when I tell you to, okay?" She nodded her head and turned. Van Helsing ran up the stairs to the room that Dracula, Hannah, Jinx, and Aleera were now in.

"Uh oh," Dracula began, backing away from the women in the room. "My oldest friend will arrive... and now is not the time to meet him." He span on the spot, disappearing in a loud laugh and cloud of shard of smoke.

 

Edward tried to calm down as Jinx ran up the stairs, Van Helsing followed her, and Beatrice ran to the Lexi and her saddlebags. He slowly transformed halfway back to himself, unable to fully transform and untransform yet.

He looked at his hands and his chest, now covered in his and Verona's blood. He saw the chunk of her throat and remembered the feeling of it between his teeth... and bent over to wretch on the stone floor. Recovering a moment later, he was just starting to feel the pain in his face and chest where the bride had ripped open his skin with her talons.

Then he heard Aleera pinning Hannah to the wall, and her cry of pain. He could feel in the werewolf instinct run uncontrollably through his veins.

"No..." he croaked, but it was no use. The fur returned to his body and he gave a piercing a howl, running up the stairs to help Hannah.

 

Hannah sank to the floor, spots dancing in front of her eyes as she tried to get her breath back.

Aleera glared at Hannah. "Your blood is mine." She hissed before following Dracula.

Hannah felt a pressure lift from her, but that didn't prevent her from passing out.

 

Van Helsing saw Hannah fall to the floor and went over to her. "Hannah?" he tried. She didn't wake. He looked around to see if Dracula or Aleera were near. "Cowards," he whispered. "Can't even stay in the same room as me!"

 

Jinx kelt by Hannah. "Oh, she passed out." she said, mostly to herself, but the other's came in as she spoke. "They got away, but she's okay, I think." she explained, looking at the others. "Lets get her out of here before they come back."

 

Edward entered the room, ready to kill anything in front of him. He saw Hannah on the floor and began to rush over to her. Van Helsing stood in front of her and drew his gun, however.

"Control yourself before you get near her, Edward," he stated, pointing the gun at him. "Calm down."

Edward growled and considred ripping out Van Helsing's throat as well, but forced himself to stay calm... Cool it, he thought, and his hackles were no longer raised. She needs my help... I've got to stop this, no matter what the moon looks like...

He shut his eyes and tried to breathe evenly. He could finally feel his body returning completely to normal, his face full of deep cuts and his chest covered in blood. If there was a mirror around he wouldn't have recognized his own appearance.

 

Hannah's eyes fluttered open and she moaned softly. Her vision was a bit fuzzy at first, but she didn't need her sight to recognize the smell of blood. For a brief moment, she thought the worst but she quickly shook the thought away. As her vision cleared, she looked around the room, slowly sitting up and looking back at the floor.

 

Van Helsing lowered his gun and stepped aside as Edward came over and knelt next to Hannah. Oh, this isn't good, he thought, seeing the looks in both of their eyes. "I need to make them both come to their senses soon before it's too late.

 

"Are you alright?" Edward asked Hannah, putting an arm around her shoulder to help her sit up. "What happened up here after they took you?"

 

Hannah just shook her head, closing her eyes.
