Van Helsing

Jinx ignored the horse she was ment to ride and just set out on a job that matched the pace of the horses. Running let her mind relax anyway, and she let herself daydream and think until they reached the castle. "There it is, let's go." she said, curtly, already heading for the castle door. She took her dagger out and threw a glamor over herself so she looked human, out of habit.

 

Van Helsing raised his eyes at Jinx's dramatic attitude. "She really thinks it's going to be that easy?" he muttered to Edward. The werewolf did not smile.

"Jinx," Van Helsing called out, and she stopped. "What exactly do you plan to do by running up to Dracula's castle?"

"Now, ladies," Dracula began, going over to stand between Aleera and Verona. They both wrapped their arms around him, sneering at Hannah. "Let her try and defend her friends. I know you both won't let her die yet. Understood?"

 

"Van Helsing..." Edward began as they dismounted Lexi. "I... I don't feel well..."

He looked up at the sky, his head spinning for some inexplicable reason... and he saw the moon. It was almost full.

BIC: Jinx turned around to look at Van Helsing, "Get Hannah, you dolt. What do think we're doing here?" she asked, annoyed. "You wanted to go after her, this is where she is, so come on." she tapped her foot on the ground, not understanding what was wrong. She noticed Edward looking bad. "What's wrong with-" she saw the moon. "Shoot!"

"I didn't think--" Edward tried to speak, but a sharp, fat bolt of white pain shot up and down his spine, sending him on all fours against the stone bridge in front of Dracula's castle.

"I need..." he tried, but his head was aching like it was going to split open. "...helppp..." he almost finished, but his words faded into a whimper and a small howl.

 

"Dammit," Van Helsing began, trying to go over to Edward and help him up, but the man lashed out from the floor, almost catching Van Helsing's neck with his claws that had grown with his fingernails rapidly.

"Listen to me, Edward!" Van Helsing began, though he drew his silver-bulleted gun. "You need to focus on why we're here! Find Hannah, Edward! Do you understand? Think of her!"

"Oh," Dracula began suddenly, holding a cupped, long fingernailed hand to his ear. "I think I here some friends coming... and a newly- changed werewolf? Wonderful."

 

Jinx stepped foward, towards the two, but stayed a good distance from Edward's slashing claws. "Edward, come on, let's go get Hannah." she prompted. "Before Dracula can really have her." she added, hoping that would add to his focus.

 

Edward looked up at Jinx, fur starting to form on his face and his eyes bleeding to a dark red. His growling stopped, however, and his clothes stopped trying to bulge out of his shirt.

"Y-you're.... right..." he managed to say, yet he was still unable to move. "What am I... going to do?"

 

"You've got to control it for now, Edward," Van Helsing explained. "When we get inside there, you can change if you wish, but... it's not a good idea..."

 

"Just think of her face, something to focus on." Jinx suggested, calmly. "Keep all your concentration on that, okay? You'll be okay, let's go find her." she promted, soothingly.

 

Edward's face slowly faded back to normal, and he shook his head uneasily. "Do you know the way or something?" he asked Jinx, getting shakily to his feet.

 

"No, but I can smell and hear them. Their in that area." Jinx explained simply, pointing high up to a window. "Since you two can't fly, we'll have to find our way by foot." she scanned the castles outer wall. "That door looks promising. Let's try it." she walked over to the door and tried the handle, it swung open. "Woah, this place is big." she commented, seeing inside.

"I really don't think we should just be walking in here.." Van Helsing began, putting away his gun and pulling out his bow, making sure there was a full load of arrows in it.

 

Hannah's eyes widened. Edward...? She thought in dismay, paying no attention to the brides. He shouldn't have come....

"Werewolf?" Verona repeated. "My lord, you should go."

 

Jinx rolled her eyes. "Fine, you stay here and I'll go up there myself, how is that?" she suggested, annoyed. "Because unless you're actully going to suggest someway for us to get her away from Dracula, what do you expect us to do?" she turned back around and headed, purposfully, into the castle.

 

Van Helsing started to run after Jinx, trying his best to listen to Edward's advice of staying on the vampire's good side.

Edward ran up along side him, and Van Helsing hear him supressing growls as he inhaled. "Are you going to be alright?" he asked.

 

"I will be once we find her," Edward muttered, covering another growl. He had a sudden urge to get down on all fours and run, but controlled himself. They reached the doors and went inside.

"You ladies should go and meet our guests," Dracula said to Aleera and Verona. "And try your best not to end up like Marishka, understood?"

 

"Don't you dare touch Edward!!" Hannah yelled after the brides as they flew out the window.

Aleera cackled as she flew down towards Jinx. "Visting hours are over!" She knocked Jinx aside.

Verona headed for Edward. "The doctor didn't leave his castle to be home to guests like you! Victor's castle is my master's now."

 

Jinx jumped back up after the hit. "Oh, I'm so scared of the old hag!" she spat at Aleera, running past her to head up the stairs.

 

Van Helsing aimed his bow at Verona and shot, trying to hit her heart. She flew back from Edward even as the man fell to his hands and knees again, not able to stop the howl that issued from his mouth.

"So... shall we watch the fun?" Dracula asked, stepping over to the window.
