"I've got good reflexes, my dear," Van Helsing replied, a little stung. "How do you think I'm still alive after... however many years I've been here?"

 

"I know, I know. I said it's not your fault." Jinx said, soothingly. "Besides it doesn't look like speed or strength have helped anyone you've come up against so far... so who cares if he's faster or not?" she smiled a little again.

 

"True," Van Helsing replied after a moment, considering her words. "I bet I'm a better kisser, too."

 

Jinx rolled her eyes, trying to not smile so much at his words. "No comment on either end of that question."

 

"I didn't expect one," Van Helsing said confidently. "You don't have enough experience on one end to answer, anyway."

 

"On any end with my head clear." Jinx said under her breathe. "Yeah, we'll have to ask someone else." she said, at a more normal volume.

 

"I really haven't kissed many other women," Van Helsing laughed. "As shocking as it may sound, I've always put my work first."

 

"Maybe that's a good thing." Jinx suggested. "I don't know." she rubbed her eyes.

 

"It can be, yes," Van Helsing agreed. "Are you alright?" You look... tired, or... hungry, maybe."

BIC: Jinx shrugged. "I guess I'm hungry. I'll eat next time we stop. I keep forgetting." she smiled, "You're lucky I have good self control." she teased.

 

Van Helsing smirked. "I don't think I would mind too much, since you're being such a tease."

 

"You say that now. But I'm quick on anything I eat, you wouldn't like it." Jinx made her smile scarier.

 

Van Helsing snorted. "Well, I'm sorry," he replied swiftly. "I didn't know you were that kind of girl."

 

Jinx bared her teeth at him. "Only when I'm killing, dear." she retorted, smiling.

 

Van Helsing choked on his next retort slightly, a little taken aback. He tried to hide the large grin on his face, but failed miserably. "You've no idea how... interesting that is to me," he managed to say after a moment.

 

"It would be." Jinx laughed a little at his short lack of responce. "I just don't like to toture what I have to kill." she explained.

 

"I wouldn't mind, depending on your definition of the word 'torture,'" Van Helsing smiled to himself. "But I guess, at this rate, I should be afraid."

 

Jinx looked him straight in the eyes, still smiling lightly. "I think maybe you're twisting what I'm saying with what you're thinking." she said in a mocking tone.

"Very true," Van Helsing replied happily. "Maybe it's because I'd rather be doing something besides talking at the moment."
