Van Helsing

"Well, can we talk about it as we move, dear?" Van Helsing replied quickly. "No offense, Carl, but we should get going now..."

 

Carl nodded. "I agree." he said quickly, "Oh and just because I think we all need a little up note. I think I know where we need to go once we're in Transilvania. I'll have more information once we get there." he smiled alittle at them and got back into the carrige, pulling papers back into his hands and finding his place again.

"Fine, let's go then." Jinx walked with Beatrice to the other carrige and kept waited until she was situated before going to her seat on the other carrige. "Tell us if you can't handle it, okay Beatrice?" she said.

 

"Sorry, Beatrice," Van Helsing muttered sincerely and jumped on top of his carriage, grabbing the reigns. He looked at Jinx, trying to not be angry with her. She's done nothing wrong, he thought to himself. Don't be mad with her; calm down!

 

Jinx tapped her foot impatiently. "So what did he do? Why is your hand bleeding?" she asked quickly, worry written on her face. She'd even almost forgotten about the smell of his blood so close to her.

Hannah exhaled once she and Edward were in the carriage and the door was firmly shut. "Thanks," She murmured.

If you plan on following us all the way to Castle Dracula, you might want to show him a bit more respect than you do to others. John advised lightly.

Beatrice wished she could be closer to Sorin, but that would mean being closer to Van Helsing. Being behind his carriage didn't help either. She tried to take Jinx's advice of not breathing too much, but each time she denied herself of oxygen, she found herself wanting to take deeper breaths.

 

Van Helsing sighed. "What did he do... that was your first question? Well..." he frowned, not sure how to phrase it, trying to get rid of his anger that had nothing to do with her. "He came to tell me to back off, I guess; to stay away from you. I told him not a chance, of course, that you were my friend and he was an a.sshole, or something like that. Anyway, I said something to effect of he isn't a man because he uses his mind to make you feel what he wants... therefore implying he can't handle how you really feel about him. And then... well, I think my temper got the better of me." He continued quickly when he saw the look on her face: "He said that he'd leave us alone if he let you talk, choose whether you like to come with... us... or him, without any of his emtional crap. And I guess that answered your second question about my hand; that's my fault, I guess."

 

Edward gave her a warm smile, trying not to pay attention to Van Helsing's words. "You're welcome," he said after a moment. "What the hell are we going to do?"

 

Lestat smiled serenly, imaging that John would hopefully be dead before that location came around. Haven't I already said that I won't speak to or have anything to do with this Dracula? he muttered with a sigh. Trust me, when that time comes, I shan't get in the way... there are many other things I can do.

 

"About what? The full moon? Dracula? Beatrice? John? This new hunter?" Hannah listed off. "There are pleanty of things to be worrying about. I'm afraid you'll have to be more specific."

Enjoy yourself then. John remarked.

 

"Everything," Edward sighed, touching the bruise on the side of his face. "And I thought Lestat was helping," he muttered under his breath. "The pain always seems to get worse once it gets better..."

 

I can't let you have all the fun or get away that easily, Lestat smiled at Edward, ignoring John for a moment.

 

"I told you not to trust him," Hannah mumbled. "I still don't. If he's helping us, then why is he hurting you?"

John rolled his eyes. You should just advise him to keep her confined on the full moon. For her own good of course.

 

Confined? Lestat scoffed. They're in carriages on the side of a road surrounded by northern European forests that offer no protection. There is nothing that could hold her. Except...

 

"He likes it," Edward said, trying to smile. "But I'm in his debt, Hannah; I cannot argue with him or... whatever he wants. I told him I would do whatever he wanted, and... I will."

 

Edward wouldn't be able to hold her if that's what you're thinking. Neither could you. John slightly smiled at the thought. It would be smart of them to stop in a town for a few days before and after the full moon. No matter what schedule they're on.

Hannah stared sulkily at her hands in her lap. "And if he told you to leave me, would you?" She asked quietly.

 

Edward smiled, leaning over to grab her hand. "That's the one thing he wouldn't do, don't you understand? He knows how much you mean to me; he knows I would give anything to be with you without all these other things in the way."

 

The stupidest thing you could do is underestimate me and my power, John, Lestat smiled, though his eyes were flaming hot. His tone was sweet but his body language spoke caution enough. I can do anything I'd wish, and even if I couldn't manage myself, I have the most powerful beig in the world by my side in a thought...

 

"Doesn't mean he can't do it." Hannah argued. "None of us know his intentions. He could turn at any moment. For all we know, he's one of Dracula's lackies!" She exhaled, frustrated.

No vampire or werewolf has ever suvived a fight with a lycan. John pointed out. That's why I'll be keeping my distance on the full moon. I can't have her killing herself.

 

"He's not like that, dear," Edward insisted softly. "Trust me, I just know for some reason. I can tell."
