Van Helsing

"What you think is best?" Van Helsing repeated angrily, turning to face Edward now. "You think secrets are good for a group that already has enough differences that could tear them apart? You really are a lot stupider than I thought you were, Edward. I should have killed you with those others werewolves while I had the chance."

 

Edward's grip tightened around Hannah's shoulders. He swallowed before answering: "That's beside the point. We're here to help you, not split things apart, Van Helsing. Don't you realize that?"

 

Are you going to kill him, or will you let Edward finish the job? Lestat mused suddenly, almost to himself. I wonder...

 

"Then stop lying!" Van Helsing retorted, his bloody knuckles curling into fists. "Stop acting through me for your own benefits and reasons, your own motives to just get her and get out!"

 

Beatrice stiffened slightly at the yelling and then recognized the smell of blood. She rooted herself to where she stood, though most of her wanted to do otherwise.

Hannah was jerked away from her thoughts at Van Helsing's words. She didn't know whether she should be happy or upset if his words proved true. She turned around to look at Edward, shaking his hands off her shoulders. "Is that true, Edward? You don't care about this group? You don't care about Beatrice or Jinx? Is that it? You've just got one goal? I appreciate your concern for me, really I do, but these are my friends and...." She trailed off and looked at the ground.

My bet is Hannah will. John responded. If that idiot tries to go near her, he'll find she's a hell of a lot stronger than he, or any of us for that matter, is on the full moon.

 

"No," Edward sighed, glaring at Van Helsing and turning Hannah to face him quickly. "You know that isn't true; he..." He faded off for a moment, glancing at Van Helsing. "He doesn't have any idea what he's talking about. I care about all of us. But I can't lie to you; if I had a choice between saving one of them and you... I'd have to choose you because I love you. But in the mean time, I want us all to be safe because I think we all need to be togther as a team, a real group to kill Dracula. Which is why things like John cannot be in the way..."

 

"B.ullshit," Van Helsing muttered under his breath, turning when he heard Beatrice's feet in the trees.

 

"Hey," Edward snapped, almost growling under his breath. "If you're to insult me, I have no problem making you shut up."

 

Lestat bit his lip, thinking. That would be interesting... he laughed in his head, and then chuckled aloud when he heard Edward's words.

 

She might even be a match for you. John smirked at the thought.

Hunter blood or not, this was Beatrice's first time around exposed human blood. The images that passed through her head both shocked and appealed to her. Her stomach knotted and she felt as if her throat was raked with fire. Her eyes faded in and out of focus, but when they met with Van Helsing's, they were coal black. She wasn't aware of anything else except the scent of blood so close to her. She tore her eyes away from Van Helsing's and they quickly found the wound that seemed to be inviting her.

Hannah put her hands on Edward's face and made him look down at her. "Don't you dare start a fight with anyone, understand?" She pointed behind herself without looking away from Edward. "Beatrice and Jinx are there. Van Helsing is already bleeding, we don't need anymore blood." She noticed her own throat was begging to find where the blood came from. She turned away from Edward and looked at Van Helsing. "Will you please do something about that?" She nodded her head towards his hands.

 

Van Helsing frowned, still glaring at Edward. "Yes, of course," he muttered, and stalked over to the carriage Carl was sleeping in. "Open up," he snapped, banging on the door.

 

Edward sighed, watching Van Helsing leave. "Sorry," he apologized to Hannah. "I didn't mean to get upset, it's just... he's so stubborn! I trust him, but sometimes he just pisses me off, and I can't help but want to hurt him, especially this close to a full moon. What do you think...?" and he faded off, imagining the idea himself. He shook his head. "What do you think Will said to get him so angry?"

 

Lestat rolled his eyes. There isn't a woman in this world for me, neither immortal or otherwise, that I have truly loved. One has come close, but it was impossible. I think my generation of vampires has been Gifted with skill and power, but not the ability to love as others can...

 

Jinx grabbed Beatrice by the shoulders and wheeled her around back towards the forest. "Beatrice? Snap out of it." she was having a hard time with the blood in the air herself and had to keep reminding herself that she had to worry about Beatrice.

Carl's head snapped up from what he was reading. "What?" he opened the door. "What's wrong?" he asked, setting aside the papers and stepping out.

BIC: "Well," Hannah paused. "He is Jinx's creator. My guess is he said something about her. Van Helsing does lean favor towards Jinx." She cracked a smile.

Beatrice turned her head over her shoulder, partially distressed that the blood was out of sight. Yet she did not struggle against Jinx's hold on her. Her throat burned, and she ground her teeth together, her fangs poking against her gums. Her mind was reeling and all she could focus on was getting back to the source of the blood.

John was silent for a moment. Ah... Well, perhaps it's a fair trade.

 

OOC: OMG IT"S OUT!

BIC: Jinx continued to push her further away from the smell of blood. "Beatrice, you're doing great." she said, trying to be encouraging. "Try and think about something else... like Sorin." she added, off the top of her head.

 

OOC: you have issues... lol

"I need something for my knuckles, apparently," Van Helsing muttered, showing Carl his hands. "According to all our lady vampire friends out there."

 

"True," Edward nodded, leaning against the nearest tree and sighing. "Where are they?"

 

Lestat wasn't sure what to say. I don't know... there are times when it doesn't seem so.

 

Carl looked at Van Helsing's hand. "What did you do? Geeze, that must be sending them up the wall." he reached back into the carrige and pulled out some bandages.
