"I do apologize, then," Van Helsing replied, just as seriously. "Not the right circumstance for something like that, was it?"

 

"not really, no." Jinx agreed. Then a smile appeared on her lips. "Under normal circumstances I would have beat the heck out of you... so I guess you got off lucky that I was drugged up his emotions."

 

"You know, I don't think you would have," Van Helsing smiled shortly.

 

"What makes you think that?" Jinx asked, unconvinced.

 

"Because you'd enjoy it," Van Helsing laughed. "And don't lie to me; there's no need to be embarrassed."

 

"Do you mean I'd enjoy beating you up or kissing you?" Jinx asked, innocently.

 

"Hmm," Van Helsing thought, considering. "Probably both... but the latter the most."

 

"Possibly..." Jinx allowed, "I could test out beating you up and see which one is better." she suggested, cheerfully.

 

"I'd like that," Van Helsing laughed. "But maybe we could do that later when I'm not driving a carriage?"

 

Jinx laughed, "You seriously want me to beat you up? Woah, I didn't peg you as that kind, Van Helsing."

 

"Well, I will pretend it hurts just as long as you kiss me later... and not just lie and beat the crap out of me like I know you want to," he responded quickly.

 

"You mean I have to promise to kiss you or I can't beat you up?" Jinx sighed. "And I don't lie unless I actully have to... shoot..." she put on a fake pout.

 

"Doesn't it sound like a fair deal to you, though?" Van Helsing asked sincerely. "I'll be heartbroken if you say no."

 

"Maybe that would be punishment enough..." Jinx considered. But she saw his expression fall and gave in. "Fine, it's a fair deal."

 

"Thanks," Van Helsing smiled. "And don't forget, or I will remind you later."

 

"I'll be sure to remember." Jinx assured him. "even if you forget."

 

"Oh, trust me, my dear," Van Helsing laughed. "There's no way anyone could forget that deal."

 

"Okay." Jinx smiled at him. "It's a save deal then. This should be fun."

 

"For me more than you, maybe," Van Helsing chuckled.

 

"You're probably right." Jinx smirked and cracked her knuckles harshly. "I'll have to be careful not to kill you, both ends of the deal."
