Van Helsing

"Good," Edward whispered, bending to kiss her. He held her tightly to him, depsite the pain in his back and head. He smiled at her a moment later. "Sorry, but... I have a question. Earlier, when you were asleep... you heard me in your dreams. My thoughts, didn't you?"

 

Hannah nodded, breathless. "I thought... that was just part of my nightmare."

John swallowed a retort. "Then perhaps he'd learn from you."

 

"If I was willing to teach," Lestat sighed. "I doubt it, though."

 

"Hmm," Edward shook his head. "No... I didn't really know I could do that, but I figured if you were asleep, I could wake you to talk with me with my own thoughts. I guess it worked."

 

"Chances are he wouldn't listen." John chuckled.

"Then I owe you a thank you." Hannah said. "I'm not fond of my nightmares."

 

"I wouldn't want him to," Lestat replied coldly. "Besides, I'm not counting on him to be dead, thanks to your girl and her friends."

 

"Well, then, whenever you have a nightmare, I'll make sure I'm there to talk you out of it," Edward smiled reassuringly.

 

"That would be troublesome for you." Hannah sighed. "You've got to sleep too."

"True," John considered. "No one knows how to kill him."

 

"I'm sure your girl's little group will figure it out," Lestat replied. "I'm counting on it."

 

"I don't care," Edward replied. "I will stay up whenever I can."

 

John raised an eyebrow. "They're not that smart."

"I've grown used to them, Edward." Hannah said, trying to sound convincing. "I'm not going to keep you up."

 

"They should be where we left them." Jinx said, cooly, finishing up the carriges. "There we just need the horses and we can leave." she walked back, without waiting for him, to the others. "Sorry for the delay... issues arrose." she excused them, attempting to smile."Did we miss anything?"

Will walked through the forest, keeping his senses open for prey. Ah, she's rubbing off on me if I feel like animal tonight. he thought, rubbing his jaw as it healed. Well, things could not have gone more wrong with her. But I can fix that soon enough. I've been in need of a challenge for quite some time, this will be perfect. John will be easy to deal with as long as that werewolf is already angry enough to kill him. And Jinx... i suppose I'll have to hit the hunter first, so he doesn't interfer again. he chuckled to himself. then again, she may kill him off for me if he tries sucking her face off again.

 

"Issues," Van Helsing muttered, chuckling, and then shut his mouth.

 

"You're not convincing me," Edward muttered to Hannah before turning to Van Helsing. "No, we're all ready to go. Transylvania here we come, I assume?"

 

"You're right," Lestat said calmly. "They may not be that smart... but Edward is."

 

Carl grinned at Van Helsing, having heard Hannah tell them what had happend. He's not dead, that's a good sign. "Yeah, Transilvania... and then we'll see from there." he answered Edward's question.

Jinx nodded, "Good. Let's hit the road."

 

Van Helsing jumped up onto his carriage, glad to see Lexie down in front of him. He patted the seat next to him, winking at Jinx.

"Where are you sitting?" he asked with a smile as Hannah and Edward climbed into his carriage.

 

Jinx tapped her foot, annoyed that she was considering it. "I hate you." she muttered, jumping up to sit next to him.

Carl climbed into Beatrice's carrige, laughing to himself and getting his research out.

 

"The feeling is mutual," Van Helsing laughed, clicking Lexie's and Sorin's reigns to start them forward. "Are you really angry with me, though?" he asked now, a little more quietly.

 

"yes." Jinx answered, crossly. "I am angry with you. I told you to shoot me or hit me and you kissed me.... I could have hurt you and that scares me, Van Helsing." she looked at him seriously.
