Van Helsing

Jinx giggled. "They think you're an angel?" she finally asked, still giggling. "And your currently hanging around three vampires and a werewolf, how ironic is that?" she didn't really understand why, but the throught of him being an angel was really funny.

 

"An archangel, actually, if that sounds any more masculine and attractive for you," Van Helsing muttered. "The left hand of God, so to speak... and your company has changed my ways, so they would likely kill me just as they would you if they knew what I was doing now."

 

Jinx put her face into the pillow to muffle her laugh. "So what, does that make you like Satan, a fallen archangel and all that?" she asked, after a moment, though she was still giggling.

 

"Fallen?" Van Helsing repeated with a little frown. "I still love and believe in God, my dear... I'm just not very good at following his rules."

 

"I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I'm going to hell for sure, but I still love God, belive it or not." Jinx said, smiling at him. "I just meant, would hte church consider you fallen now?"

 

"Now? Yes," Van Helsing said solemnly. "I believe so. And you, my dear, will not go to hell... trust me."

 

Jinx nodded, "I hope they don't try and kill you. Then we'd have to help you and killing preists just feels wrong, you know?" she shrugged. "And yes I am going to hell," she added, absently, "But it's okay, I've gotten used to the idea. If you live forever, what's so scary about hell?"

 

"Jinx, dear," Van Helsing sighed. "Why on earth would you go to hell?"

 

"I've killed alot of people in cold blood. Innocent people with families and friends and lives and now no future." Jinx said, simply, "If that doesn't deserve hell than what does? The fact that I don't kill people anymore..." she winced, remembering the boy she'd brought up for Hannah. "If I can help it... doesn't really change the fact. But it's okay, I'll proabably life forever if I do it right, so what's there to worry about?"

 

"You killed those people so you could survive," Van Helsing said calmly. "And even if you killed them for the hell of it, which I think you didn't, then you can ask for forgiveness. If you are truly sorry for those unnecessary murderers, you will be forgiven. I think that God understands you have to kill to survive, and that's not a bad thing."

 

"That would make sense, execpt I still can't enter a church without it hurting like hell." Jinx pointed out. "No pun intended"

 

"Have you ever asked to be forgiven?" Van Helsing asked. "I always kind of had the theory that if you did, you could go in any church you wanted without any trouble."

 

Jinx thought for a few moments. "No... I don't think I've ever asked for God's forgivness... just the human's. I talk to God sometimes though." she admitted. "I did a lot when I was first on my own and stopped drinking human blood."

 

"You should try it," Van Helsing suggested. "I do it all the time, and, for some reason, it does help. It's always good to talk to God."

 

"Yeah... it's someone to talk to." Jinx smiled. "Probably better than talking to Satan... although that would be interesting.... Not a good idea though, as if there isn't enough temptation around here anyway." she closed her eyes. "So, 'fallen archangel'... that's pretty interesting. I'll bet it works on all the girls." she grinned, keeping her eyes shut.

 

"Only you," Van Helsing grinned. "Since you're the only person besides Carl that I've ever really talked to about himself."

 

Jinx opened one of her eyes. "What makes me so special?"

 

"I don't know yet," Van Helsing mused, looking away from her. "But actually being able to talk to you is a start... that's something I never do."

 

"Talking to people, women, or me, do you mean?" Jinx asked, still keeping one eye closed

 

"I never talk to anyone is what i meant," Van Helsing clarified. "I've only spoken a little to Carl because... well, he's always around."
