"True," Lestat grinned. "Though I don't really like the idea... call me seventeenth century, but collecting those of your own kind doesn't appeal to me."

 

"I tried to get rid of your John once and for all," Edward began, limping over to gingerly sit next to her. "Lestat stopped me, though... as you can see."

 

"Beatrice, I told you to stop him from doing anything stupid." Hannah sighed.

"He's fast." Beatrice amended.

"And you're about one hundred times faster than any of our group." Hannah pointed out.

"Sorry," Beatrice hung her head.

Hannah looked back at Edward. "We just talked." She told him. Despite her efforts for it not to, the sickening memory of John's kiss came back to her. She quickly pushed it away and looked at the floor.

 

"I'm sure," Edward replied, not convinced. "About what, I wonder?"

 

"Please don't make me say it...." Hannah moaned.

"I'm part of his collection. You think I like it?" John glared at Lestat.

 

"No," Lestat replied immediately. "But you can get away from him, you know... you have for years, haven't you, as the other one in their group?"

 

"I won't," Edward smiled, and then stopped, putting a hand to his jaw. "It's fine... you can talk whenever you can. I'm not worried about John at all. He should be worried about me... and that hunter, as well, when the full moon comes around."

 

Jinx let the others talk in their rooms, knowing it was better to keep out for the moment. She sat down and leaned on the wall, staring at the opposite wall and thinking.

Carl nodded and stood up. "Okay, so... for the remainder of the day, what are we going to do?"

 

"Well," Van Helsing began, sitting up. "I'm not sure... I know there was something else we had to do here besides kill a werewolf woman... I can't remember..."

 

Carl shook her head. "Are you kidding me Van Helsing?"

 

"That hunter is a werewolf too," Hannah reminded Edward. "I really don't want to see you hurt. Edward... I have to go with John." She gently put two fingers to his lips before he could say anything. "I'd rather tell you this way than the way he told me to tell you. I really don't want to see you hurt." She took her fingers away from his lips. "But I can see I'm a bit late for that."

John grit his teeth. "We were both extremely lucky."

 

"I don't care what he told you to tell me," Edward began seriously, putting a hand against her cheek. "It doesn't matter; he can't hurt me, Hannah. Say what you will, I don't care, but I have knowledge he never will, and that's my advantage. I know you want to look after me and keep me safe, but please do that after I get rid of John... can you at least promise me that?"

 

"Not really," Van Helsing laughed. "I'm not sure what else I'm supposed to do... the horses are rested, the last werewolf is dead... what about that stupid vampire hunter they were talking about?"

 

"Lucky?" Lestat scoffed. "You seem a lot smarter than just a 'luck' kind of guy. What are his plans for following you all of a sudden, do you think?"

 

Okay, this is the team I officially choose... brilliant!

BIC: "Which one? John, Will, or Lestat?" Carl asked, trying to keep up with them as well.

 

"The new one," Van Helsing muttered. "And Lestat doesn't seem to be a hunter... Will is a collector, and as for John... well, he's just sick. He's the one I'd like to kill the most right now. No, the one that made Hannah sick last night. He's just a hinderance at this point."

 

"Oh the werewolf." Carl clarrifed. "Yeah, he's bad enough that Beatice and Jinx were afraid to go outside. Not good." he sat on the edge of the bed. "Do you think he'll follow us too?"
