Van Helsing

"Then what do you suggest I do?" Van Helsing sighed. "There's no way talking to him... unless," he added, having an idea, "unless it's through Hannah."

 

"Are you sure?" Edward asked. "I... I can't really go next door; Van Helsing will pull a gun on me at this point."

 

Jinx thought about it for a second. "yeah, that could probably work... but you'll have to wait on it. Hannah's not in any condition to help you or anyone right now...."

 

"Come in," Hannah gave in. She shook her head, hoping to clear it but only causing a wave of dizziness.

Sorin gently nudged Beatrice's shoulder. Thank you for being my 'dam. I couldn't have asked for a better life.

"Don't you want to be with Lexi?" Beatrice smiled in full.

If you don't want me to, then I won't. Sorin's ears folded back.

"Van Helsing has to agree too, you know." Beatrice pointed out.

 

"I didn't mean right now, dear," Van Helsing said softly. "Later, of course, if I have to."

 

"Thanks," Edward sighed, shutting the door behind him. "Do you feel any better?"

 

Jinx winced slightly at being called 'dear' again but smiled and nodded. "Hopefully he'll come to his sences and you won't have to at all."

 

"Only a bit." Hannah flopped back onto her side.

Beatrice kissed Sorin's nose. "I'll see you tomorrow. Maybe you can get some grazing time."

With Lexi? Sorin's ears perked up.

"I'll see what I can do." Beatrice ruffled Sorin's forelock and then headed back to the rooms.

 

"That would be nice," Van Helsing replied. "What shall we do now? Sleep? Drink? I don't even know."

 

"I'm sure it will get better over time," Edward assured her, going to sit on the bed next to her. "Is there anything I can do?"

 

"I don't know either..." Jinx tapped her fingers on the window pane. "I'd actully like to go out and look around the town but that's a stupid idea considering what's out there. Anything in particular you want to do, Carl?"

"Not really." Carl rubbed his eyes, "I think I might get some sleep though, I've been reading all day."

 

"Not unless you can make it stop," Hannah mumbled.

Beatrice knocked on Van Helsing's door, beaming. I wonder if I should tell them.

 

"Go ahead, then, Carl," Van Helsing smiled. "Jinx, do you want to take Beatrice with you? She's here."

 

"I can try," Edward smiled, reaching out to rub her back gently. "Tell me anything you need and I will do what I can. Would talking about something else take your mind off it?"

 

Jinx sighed. Yeah, like the two of us together are any differnet than us alone with what wants us. or what want me.. "I don't know if that's such a good idea..." she started.

 

Beatrice's smile faded. What am I so happy about? I was hearing Sorin's voice in my head.... I'm losing it.... I shouldn't tell them. She decided.

"What else is there to talk about?" Hannah rolled onto her stomach.

 

"Alright, whatever you two think is best," Van Helsing agreed, going to lie down on one of the beds. "She's right outside."

 

"Hmm," Edward replied, thinking. "How about what I just did for you out in those trees?"

 

Jinx stood up and opened the door for Beatice. "but if you guys are just going to sleep..." she looked at Beatice, "What do you want to do?"

Carl layed down on the other bed in the room and closed his eyes.

 

Hannah relaxed under Edward's hand. "Okay."

"What can we do? The sun is coming up soon." Beatrice sighed.
