Hannah looked at the boy and then at Edward. "I don't know...."

"Oh," Beatrice relaxed. "I knew that."

 

"Okay then." Carl smiled at her breifly.

Jinx took her seat again and pulled her knees into her chest.

 

"Do you think she'll be okay?" Beatrice asked.

 

Jinx bit the inside of her cheek, "I don't know. I hope so. Maybe, like you said, Edward will know about a cure..."

 

Beatrice nodded. "Maybe we should ask him. Later, that is."

 

"yeah, later..." Jinx agreed.

 

"Should he be in there with Hannah right now?" Beatrice asked, knowing Hannah was so self conscious about this whole thing.

 

"Hm, maybe not. But I think she'll ask him to leave if she wants him to go." Jinx said, glancing at the wall seperating the rooms.

 

Beatrice shook her head. "She'll want him there."

 

Jinx nodded. "Yeah, you're right."

 

"Sorry," Van Helsing smirked at Beatrice. "I wou'dn't have done anything... really... well, maybe."

 

"Do I have to leave for a second or something?" Edward asked kindly. "I'm sure Van Helsing would love to yell at me next door."

 

Beatrice looked at Van Helsing, her eyes wide. "You're... strange...."

Hannah sat up, putting a hand to her head as the room spun more violently. "We wouldn't want to deny him that pleasure, right?" She tried to smile.

 

Jinx smiled, "Very strange."

"I've never heard it put so kindly before... 'strange'." Carl commented.

 

"You both love it," Van Helsing sighed. "Just control yourselves, alright?"

 

Edward stood, smiling. "I'll be back," he said, going to the door. He let himself into Van Helsing's room a moment later.

 

"We're not the ones who wanted to play with the boy." Jinx responded, giving him and innocent look.

 

Hannah sighed and stood slowly. Regretfully, she gave into her senses.

Beatrice was about to retort 'you control yourself' but Edward came in so she held her tongue.

 

"Well, how's paradise next door?" Van Helsing began a little harshly, glaring at Edward.

 

"Once I kill a vampire and a werewolf it will be great, thanks," Edward sighed, leaning against the door. "That hunter I met might be better than you."
