"Just chatting." Jinx shrugged. "How about you guys?"

Carl noticed the boy unconsious in a chair. He looked from Beatrice and Jinx to him and back again. "Just talking?"

 

"Hmm," Van Helsing thought. "Carl was... researching. And I killed Edward's sister."

 

"Wow. I was wondering why you changed your shirt. I'm guessing blood?" Jinx ignored Carl's question, not really wanting to talk about the boy's purpose. "I hope Edward isn't too mad at you..." she added, sighing.

 

"No," Hannah moaned. "Not after what I did to Henry.... I can't...."

Beatrice stood up and sat on the bed, trying to sort out her thoughts.

 

"He doesn't know," Van Helsing sighed. "She didn't even remember him... I wonder what he'll think."

 

"Damn it, Hannah!" Edward snapped. "Would you rather die? Is that what you want? No one will think less of you, even Van Helsing, so you can live!"

 

"he'll probably be upset about it..." Jinx said, serously. "Maybe you should wait to tell him until we have at least one problem solved?"

Carl leaned back on the wall, avoiding looking at Beatice..

 

"Maybe," Van Helsing replied. "That sounds like a good idea."

 

Hannah looked at Edward. "You won't be mad at me?"

Beatrice just nodded in agreement.

 

Jinx got up from the ground and sat back onto the window sill again. "So, what do we do now?"

 

"God, no!" Edward sighed with a small smile. "I don't care! Just do something to get better."

 

"So who's your friend?" Van Helsing asked, pointing to the unconscious man in the chair.

 

Jinx looked away from Van Helsing and stood up. "that kind of depends on a few things." she said, avoiding answering directly. "I'll go ask Hannah if she'd decided yet." she walked over to the other door and knocked on the door.

"Decided what?" Carl asked the room in general. He glanced at the boy who was starting to wake up.

 

Hannah cracked a smile but it quickly faded. "Are you sure?"

 

"Alright," Van Helsing said slowly, looking sideways at Carl.

 

"Yes," Edward smiled. "Come in!" he added, turning to look at the door.

 

Carl returned the look and frowned at the boy waking up.

Jinx opened the door a bit. "I'm just checking to see if Hannah's decided to... eat something or not..." she explained, her voice blank.

 

"Um," Van Helsing began uncertanly. "Should I knock him out again or can we play with him?"

 

"I guess I am." Hannah told Jinx. "I don't really want to though."

Beatrice's eyes widened. "What?!"

 

"He's just kidding." Carl assured Beatice, laughing a little.

Jinx nodded, "I know..." she went back to the other room. "Oh shoot. Don't wake up." she said under her breath, seeing the boy start to open his eyes. She knocked her hand across his temple, hard enough to knock him out again. "Sorry." she picked up him up and brought him over to the other room. "Here, he's just unconsious..." she explained, laying him down on the bed and leaving.
