Van Helsing

"It doesn't seem like it," Van Helsing said, concerned. "Are you feeling well? Tired?"

 

After Lestat rid his room of the girl's body, he sat on his bed once more, looking out at the darkened sky. John must be so lonely, he thought happily.

 

"Hannah and Beatice are outside, they probably don't know which room we're in." Jinx said, instead of answering.

Carl stood up. "I'll get them." he said, wanting an excuse to leave the room. He walked down stairs, "Hey, did something happen while you guys were out there? Edward's pretty pissed off about something." he asked, meeting them outside.

 

"I'd rather only explain once." Hannah told Carl. "I need to lie down...."

"Let's get to the room." Beatrice suggested.

 

"Okay." Carl nodded, understandingly. He lead the two up to the room.

 

Edward didn't look up when the three entered the room. He kept his head down, his head between his hands.

 

"Thank you, Carl," Van Helsing began, letting Jinx be. "What happened with you two?"

 

Beatrice helped Hannah over to a bed, cringing when Hannah just flopped onto her side and closed her eyes. "Well," She started, assuming Hannah wasn't going to say anything. "We kinda had a run in with a hunter.... Hannah did all the work."

"I told you not to blame yourself." Hannah mumbled, turning her face into the mattress and rolling onto her stomach.

"I know, but I still feel badly." Beatrice said, sitting on the edge of the bed.

 

Jinx looked at Hannah and then Beatice. "That werewolf?" she asked/

 

Edward growled, a shiver running through him. He rose, but did not look at anyone, facing the door.

 

"A werewolf hunter going after vampires?" Van Helsing confirmed. "Lovely. Just what we need."

 

"Edward," Hannah rolled back onto her side. "Stay with me?"

Beatrice noticed Hannah was paler than usual. She put a hand on Hannah's forehead. "You're warm!" She exclaimed, pulling her hand back.

 

"Why?" Edward asked, a little harshly, not turning from the door. Be ready, Lestat, he hissed in his mind. I want that information tonight, and if you don't tell me I'll kill you myself.

 

"What did the hunter do to you?" Jinx asked, standing up and placing a hand on Hannah's forehead for a second, He bit her... Hells, she's warm.

 

"Do... do you two need to be left alone or something?" Van Helsing asked, the air full of tension. "We have another room..."

 

Calm yourself, Lestat repeated. I will meet you time...

 

"He didn't hurt me," Hannah said.

"She bit him." Beatrice filled in. "Twice."

"Go then, Edward," Hannah turned her attention to him. "I'd like you to stay, but you can go. I can't exactly hold you back."

Beatrice looked worriedly from Van Helsing to Jinx. "Will she be okay?"

 

"I'll talk to you if you wish," Edward began coldly, finally turning around. "But not with everyone else here."

 

"Well, then, we'll all go next door, shall we?" Van Helsing snapped with a huge sigh, stalking to the door and holding it open. "Sorry, Jinx... Beatrice, Carl... we seemed to be dismissed again."

 

Beatrice reluctantly got up from Hannah side, and went to the door.

Hannah was stung by Edward's tone. "Why are you being like this...? I didn't ask for this to happen."
