"My apologies." John amended, fear racing through him for a moment.

"I'll get you back for that!" Hannah teased, squirming against Edward's hold.

 

"Oh, please do," Edward said softly, running his hands through her hair and kissing her through a smile. "I don't mind."

 

"Apology accepted," Lestat muttered, crushing John a little harder against the tree before letting him go. "Well, what do you think, Will? I shall be more than happy to answer any other questions you have, about what I've said so far and what I haven't told in detail."

 

"Hm..." Will thought for a moment, "Instead of details of the past, why don't you tell me what you are doing here now?"

 

"Now?" Lestat smiled. "I have always enjoyed travel, going around to different parts of the world and exploring both the mortal and immortal beings there. I've met John a little before... we met up by chance. I seemed to have been entranced by this group here, and how each generation of new vampires over the decade had changed. Well, you would be able to really understand what I meant by the difference if I took the day or so to tell you Marius's story. The difference between a Roman vampire and an Elizabethan vampire and an 18th century vampire is amazing; not just abilities, but feelings and emtions and... dare I say it? Heart! I'm here now to show that the old Lestat (as I've been called and called myself) still exists and can show these newbies a thing or two."

 

"Yes I know what you mean by changes." Will agreed, "I've seen it as well." he smiled, "So you are here to teach, interesting. What do you plan on showing these new vampires?"

 

"I'll just have to get you when you least expect it." Hannah smikred. "Otherwise I won't have a fair chance."

John smoothed his shirt and stood straighter.

"I'm not very tired at all," Beatrice repsonded. "It must be all this new blood in my veins keeping me up... why? Are you going to rest or check on someone?"

 

"I'll go easy on you," Edward replied innocently. "I promise."

 

Lestat chuckled to himself. "Oh, I can teach them many things. I am not that informed and full of knowledge of all the secrets of the immortals, but I can try to help those that are worthy... do some good for a change in this lifetime."

 

"And what do you consider 'good' to be, in this lifetime?" Will promted.

"Not really... I was just curious. I thought maybe it was a new generation thing to be able to sleep." Jinx shrugged.

 

Lestat frowned slightly. "That's hard to say," he began slowly. "I'm sure you'll be able to see through my actions."

 

"That's true, but I'd rather hear it. There's no garrentee i'll even be watching your actions." Will said, honestly.

 

"Oh," Beatrice paused. "Why are there different types of vampires? I thought they were all the same."

"I think you're lying." Hannah smiled wryly and then sat on Edward's lap.

 

"I think I am, too," Edward smiled. "What are you going to do about it?"

 

"Good in terms of this generation and time?" Lestat repeated, thinking. "Well, I think that when someone owns something, that right should be respected, that t he rule of just killing evildoers is and always has been stupid, that making your own ends possible through any means isn't bad either. 'Good' is a very lose term in any generation considering it revolves around one's opinion and status."

 

"I'm not actully sure. But I think, and it's only an opinion mind you, that it all comes from the human changes. there are generation changes in that species so I think we bring those changes with us when we become vampires. And also, each human has their own qualites that make them different from other humans. These differences, I believe, are also brought into our vampire lives. So, we have different powers or more intence qualites." Jinx tried explaining her thoughts.

Will smirked at the answer, "I see. And what do you plan on telling these new vampires you want to show a thing or two?"

 

"Oh nothing." Hannah said playfully.

"So was that what Lestat was calling 'the Dark Gift'?" Beatrice asked, also speaking her thoughts.

 

"That's too bad," Edward said, frowning slightly.

 

Yes, love, that's exactly it, Lestat mentally smiled at Beatrice, hearing his name.

"That you will have to see to find out about," Lestat responded politely to Will.

 

"I suppose so. I've been kind of wondering, do you notice that anything in your is amplifed. Like anything that was strong in you as a human and now feels stronger?" Jinx asked.

Will inclined his head to Lestat. "If you are so stubborn, I suppose I will have to simply watch you as well." he agreed.
