"I'm just looking for something." John assured Lestat, ignoring Will.

Hannah attempted a smile. "I'm sure it'll be gone soon."

"Are you sure? Hannah's in the carriage, maybe we can use her's." Beatrice suggested.

 

"What can I do to help?" Edward asked again. "I know he's bothering you."

 

"And what would that be?" Lestat asked, giving Will a small nod of aknowledgement.

 

Jinx grinned, "Naw, let's not disturb them." she said, amused. "I'm fine, don't worry about it."

Will nodded back and fell into stride with the other two, listening.

 

"I'm okay, Edward." Hannah said. "I don't really know what he's doing, but it doesn't hurt too badly."

"Just something I can use." John smiled wryly.

Beatrice glanced at Jinx. "I don't want you to get hurt."

 

"Alright," Edward said reluctantly. "If you think there's nothing I can do... Lestat won't listen to me right now anyway."

 

You're correct about that, Lestat snapped at Edward. There's only so much I can do.

"And what brings you over here now, Will?" he asked the other man aloud, knowing talking to John would be useless at this point.

 

"It's fine, really." Jinx assured her.

Will shrugged, "I was hoping to learn a little about you two." he explained, lightly.

 

John pulled out of Hannah's mind, finding exactly what he needed.

Hannah looked up at Edward, smiling in full now. "You need to relax. He's gone." She rested her head back on Edward's lap, pulling the blankets closer to her.

"Okay." Beatrice gave in and focused back on Saphire and Coco.

 

"Really?" Edward asked, still not convinced. "I think you're just trying to be brave and get me to leave you alone."

 

"Ask away, good sir," Lestat smiled. "I'm sure John always loves these kinds of conversations."

 

Jinx leaned back and closed her eyes, letting her mind wander again.

Will nodded, grinning. "i remember he does so love them." he agreed. "Well, what about you then. I know nothing about you."

 

"Absolutely." John muttered sarcastically.

Hannah sighed. "If I was, I'd be a lot more agressive. Trust me?"

 

Edward chuckled under his breath. "That's something I wouldn't mind," he muttered with a smile.

 

"There are way too many things to just start as far as I am concerned," Lestat responded, ignoring John's attitude. "You'll have to ask a more specific question."

 

"Alright, let's start with the simplest questions. Like, what do you eat?" Will askes, sounding almost cheerful about the subject.

 

"Edward," Hannah sat up, pushing the blankets off herself. "You saw me when I'm 'agressive.' I'm not proud of it and I don't want to do it again." She folded her arms and looked at the floor, trying to calm down.

What everyone else does. John restrained himself from rolling his eyes. The proper ones of our kind at least.

 

Edward couldn't swallow his smile. "I was trying to joke," he said quietly, kissing her cheek. "To make you laugh, silly."

 

"Two, maybe three people a night," Lestat responded proudly, grinning. "A young, sweet girl... a strong, beautiful youth around Edward's age... and those of high society often attract me more than others."

 

Hannah looked back at Edward, trying to smile. "I never want you to have to see that again. Let alone restrain me."

So he has a 'menu'. John couldn't help but chuckle.
