"Not really," Lestat began, stepping out of the shadows and over to Will. "That hunter doesn't seem like someone to underestimate."

 

Hannah laughed. "I'm glad to hear that." She leaned back lightly against Edward. "The easy ones are always a bore." She joked.

 

"Very true," Edward teased back. "I hope..." he began more seriously now, "that Van Helsing won't be terribly angry with us. He's already upset about Jinx."

 

Hannah sighed. "He's probably already had a heart attack. My bet is he won't even understand.... After all, his horse is more important."

 

"He's a good person, too, though," Edward replied. "His intentions are honorable, anyway. We should help him finish what we came to do."

"You're right, we need to focus on Dracula. He's the reason we started this... group." Hannah said. "I'm sure he'll have a fit when we get back though." She smiled. "We'll need a serious distraction."

Jinx let her mind wander again while Beatice thought of a good mare's name. she had to snap her thoughts back a few times, since they strayed into places she'd rather not think about now. Hells...

Will turned to face Lestat, "Of course, but what do I care for the hunter?" he bowed breifly to greet him.

 

"Yes," Edward agreed. "What about Will? Van Helsing must be even angrier now," he remembered suddenly.

 

"He will protect her," Lestat informed. "This Van Helsing seems to be fond of her... more than the others he travels with."

 

"I bet he's already tried to kill him by now." Hannah laughed at the thought.

Beatrice twined the reigns in and out of her hands while she thought.

 

"Yes, but neither of them see it in the other, do they? They both are assuming the other doesn't give a damn." Will smiled, "So, I can manage. But, how can I help you?" he asked, polietly.

Jinx leaned back in her seat and looked up at the night sky. She tried to focus her thoughts by counting stars, not that it really worked or anything.

 

"Maybe," Edward sighed. "Do you think it's safe to slow down now?"

 

"I've not much to do now, actually," Lestat sighed. "I let that Angelyn girl go."

 

"And how does that involve me?" Will asked, as they followed the carriges. "I don't really care about Ms.Angelyn."

 

"I'm merely informing you," Lestat replied rather coldly. "I don't know a thing about you, monsieur. I've just realized that."

 

"You know quite enough for now, I think." Will replied, in contrast to Lesate's cold voice, he sounded almost cheerful. "May I help you, or do you only want company for the moment?"

 

"I'm sure it's fine," Hannah replied. "I don't think he'll bother to follow."

"I can't think of anything," Beatrice sighed. "I guess we'll just have to wait."

 

"Really?" Edward was a little skeptical. "Well, then, the sun shall be up soon. We need to find somewhere to stop."

 

"I think I'll go find John," Lestat muttered kindly, always the gentleman. "But I'm sure I will see you again soon... we seem to have common... interests."

 

"You would know better than I. I hope your interests do not interfer with mine. But I do hope we get a chance to meet again. Maybe later it will be a better time to learn about each other." Will bowed to him and continued walking after the carriges.

"It'll have to be No-Name for now. Too bad, that's not a very diginfied name." Jinx commented, still counting stars and still failing to make that distract her mind.
