Van Helsing

"Alright," Van Helsing agreed, and started to lead Lexi and Sorin toward the trees. There was a narrow path just big enough for the carriage to pass through, and the wheels jolted and whined against the rocky, dirty, root-covered ground. He didn't even care about Edwrad and Hannah that would soon be jolted around everywhere in the carriage. His eyes were on Lexi.

 

"Edward," Hannah carfully ran her hands through his hair. "We're stopping soon. You don't have to wake up. I just wanted to let you know that I'll be going with Jinx and Beatrice."

"Why wouldn't I be?" John questioned. "I made her, she stays with me. The only problem is the mutt."

 

"Leaving me, are you?" Edward yawned, leaning against her touch. "That's fine. I've..." he faded off, yawning again. "I've got to tell you something before you go."

 

Will shook his head, amused, "No, you misunderstand me. I meant that perticular girl. I wasn't sure if she was Hannah until now." he looked John in the eye, his smirk playing all the way to his eyes. "You have your work cut out for you, dealing with the dog."

Jinx lead the horses over the path, following Van Helsing. "Wow, harsh path." she commented, "I hope no one hits there head in there." she gestured to the inside of the carrige."

 

Van Helsing smiled, hearing Jinx. Just don't bleed if you bump anything, Carl... he thought happily.

 

"Can it wait?" Hannah asked. "I'm kinda hungry...."

"I know that." John muttered acidly. "He's a real piece of work."

"Is Hannah going to come with us...?" Beatrice asked.

 

"That's the point," Edward began. "Lestat followed John and Will. They have the girl... Elijah's little sister. She came out here to find us for killing her brother. He wants to meet you when you go out and... just stay," he began suddenly, sitting up and kissing her cheek. "Just stay here and I will find something for you."

 

Van Helsing brought the carriage to a stop now, and jumped down to go see Lexi.

"I think I'm the best bet to take out this time," he smiled at her. "Come on..."

 

They're waiting in the trees... I'll go to them... Lestat told Edward, and then left.

 

Angelyn stirred on her horse, waking up. Where... are we...? She thought sleepily.

 

"I'm not sure. We can ask her now." Jinx jumped down off the carrige. "Maybe if she's going, you two can go just the two of you, it would be a good chance for you guys to chat."

Will nodded, "yeah, I could tell." he replied.

 

"Elijah's little sister...?" Hannah shook her head at the memory of the smell. "But... I can't, Edward." She sighed. "That girl is asking for death," She began angrily. "Why would she bother to follow us? I though I'd scared her enough that she wouldn't! If she comes close to here, I won't be able to control myself." Hannah leaned her head back, making a soft clunk on the wall of the carriage.

"Not until you've been punched." John lifted Angelyn off her horse.

"That'd be nice." Beatrice smiled, getting down as well.

 

Jinx knocked on the carrige door, lightly. "You guys? We're stopping here for the night. Is Hannah going to go hunting with Beatice?"

Will chuckled. "So, you got hit, good job. I always knew you were good at dodging." he said, sarcasicly.

 

"Are you ladies off?" Van Helsing asked. "I'm going to start a fire and then lead out the horses, if that's alright."

 

"That's why you shouldn't go," Edward insisted, ignoring Jinx. "Let me go out for you. Stay here and if I find them, I'll let them be. Please," he added, "don't go out there because he will find you. Lestat can't help that."

 

"John is an amazing healer," Lestat began dramatically, stepping out of the shadows by the group. He flourished a quick, gentlemanly bow at Will and Angelyn. "You'd be surprised how many beatings he can take. Le très fort homme," he added in French. "A very strong man."

 

"We'll or they'll be off in a moment." Jinx answered Van Helsing. She tapped her foot at the lack of responce. She could hear they were awake, "Hello? Is Hannah going hunting or not?"

"Ah, hello. Are you another of John's friends?" Will greeted Lestat with his own bow.

 

Angelyn stared at the new stranger. Is he one of them too...?

 

"Sorry, Jinx. I'm not." Hannah answered. "I can wait until tomorrow, Edward. I don't want to risk it."

"I'll take that as a compliment." John mumbled.

Beatrice looked at Jinx. "Maybe she's not feeling well."

 

"Yeah, maybe. Well, looks like it's you and me again." Jinx smiled at Beatice. "We'll be back in a little bit." she told Van Helsing before they took off. "Kay, why don't you find something this time." she suggested. "Let's see how well you can use your sences."
