Lovely, Lestat smiled. Hannah will like to hear this.

 

"Only select ones." John answered. "Hannah is a very special case."

"I've got too much to think about." Hannah said.

"Yes it is... I shouldn't have gone alone out there." Beatirce moaned.

 

"Ah, I see. A special case." Will repeated, laughing a little. "She must be for you to go through the trouble of finding the little miss here." he smiled again at Angleyn

Jinx winced. "You can't cage yourself though..." she tried but trailed off. "Beatice, I'm so sorry you have to live like this, like us..." she finally said, quietly.

 

"Well, it's up to you," Edward said, sighing. "I know I've slept enough for a while... and I know how much that disappoints you because I'm sure you'd like to watch me sleep."

 

He's a collector, Lestat thought, shuddering. That's just disgusting.

 

Van Helsing smiled, realizing how ridiculous he was to feel sad or jealous right now.

Let her be, he thought miserably to himself. I've just got to convince myself she's nothing... like that's ever going to happen...

 

"She's a troublesome as she is beautiful." John murmured.

Hannah smiled. "You are cute when you sleep. You snore in the most adorable way." She laughed.

"I wanted to be more helpful," Beatrice started. "But I'm just causing more trouble...."

 

Edward smiled. "Really?" he laughed. "Then, despite my better juddgement, would you let me fall asleep in your arms?"

 

"Oh that kind..." Will laughed, "Deja vu." he said, mostly to himself. "Well, I'll join you and the misses here, if you'd not mind." he grinned at John and let trust bloom more in hiim.

Jinx gave Beatice a sharp look but softened it the next second. "Look, Beatice, you are helpful. Very much. And this trouble you keep saying you are isn't your fault. It's the damned blood still in your system. When you use all that up you'll have more control. And I'll bet if we work on it, you'll even be able to tolerate being around Carl before your blood is gone."

 

Lestat smiled to himself. That's one feeling I've rarely experienced...

 

Angelyn looked at the two vampires. Maybe they can help me. IF I get on their good side...

 

Beatrice cracked a smile. "Really?"

"Don't worry, I won't bite." Hannah winked.

"John nodded at Will and then turned to face Angelyn. "Oh, I very much doubt that. After all, if Hannah doesn't take you, I will."

 

Angelyn felt fear break through her unnatural calm. I need to go... NOW.

 

Will gave Angelyn an easy smile and sent a heavier calm over her. "Come on, let's go find this Hannah." he said, soothingly.

Jinx nodded, "Yes, if you can make your mind the master over your sences and if you get used to him, I think you'll be fine." she smiled assurinly.

 

Edward sighed and wrapped his arms around Hannah's waist, his head against her chest. He shut his eyes, though he was not tired at all. "You know," he began softly, "I had one more question for you..."

 

That's my que, Lestat thought, and jumped from the tree's branches, floating silently into its shadow to drift along toward Van Helsing's carriage.

 

Angelyn relaxed, the calm spreading over her again.

 

"What is it?" Hannah asked, playing with Edward's hair.

John took Angelyn by the wrist and went back into the forest with her and Will. "The sun will be coming up soon. We'll have to wait to find Hannah alone."

"Thanks, Jinx." Beatrice stared the road as it passed beneath them. "You're really helpful."

 

"Yes, then I'm sure she'll be quite happy to see you, John?" Will asked, slyly.

Jinx smiled. "Thanks." she laughed a little. "But the truth is I'm just old, and you pick stuff after awhile." Beatice's expression made her laugh alitle louder, "I'm not 16, you know."

 

"Do you dream?" he asked, shivering at her cold fingers. "I mean, do you have dreams?"
