"Physically?" Edward smirked, making the swollen bruise by his left eye crinkle painfully. "There's not much wrong. My head is killing me... it feels like I got torn apart, healed incorrectly, and broken again... and now it's not getting better..."

Powers/Abilities: can control other's emotions
History: has for the over a century, targeted humans, changed them into vampires, used them to kill humans, and then left them to a group of werewolves when they outgrew their newborn strength. He has no connections to anyone and only uses friendship and love as levage for his own advantages.

BIC: Jinx nodded, "yeah, me too."

 

Van Helsing frowned to himself as the carriage started to move. He considered listening to Hannah and Edward, but decided to let them be... the idea to look into Jinx's mind and see what she was thinking was also a strong temptation, but he thought better of it. Instead he just stared at the road ahead.

 

"I wonder what happened...." Beatrice thought out loud.

Hannnah's smile faded. "Sorry.... I should never have gotten involved with any of you. I'm just making things harder."

 

"That may be true," Edward said rather unkindly. "But you can't do anything about it now, and therefore an apology is unnecessary at this point..." He faded off, shutting his eyes once more. "I don't mean to sound rude," he began again suddenly. "And I didn't mean to follow you at all. It was like I didn't have a choice... it just happened."

 

"See?" Lestat repeated. "I think you underestimate the boy. And there was nothing else in his mind that I can use against him, trust me. I'd figured there would be more."

 

"I'm not sure... but they'll tell us eventually." Jinx assured her. She sat queitly for a moment, thinking when she suddenly felt completly calm and at peace. "Hm?" she blinked rapidly, not understanding where the feelings had come from.

MEANWHILE!!!! A FEW MINUTES EARLIER!!!!

Will pulled the girl along with him. She giggled. "Where are we going?"
"Somewhere where we can be al-" his smile disapeared as two scents hit him. "NO!" he yelled, droping his almost-victim's hand.
"What's wrong, Will?" she asked, but he had already started running, leaving her alone in the forest.
NO! NO! I know those scents, it can't be. I left them to die! he yelled in his head, following the two smells until they both changed direction. He followed the first on until he came across a group of two carriages. Will's eyes narrowed as he saw her coming back. Jinx. He'd left her to die over a century ago, how'd she get here? He hid in the trees until more people joined the group and the carriges started moving. "I'll get you yet,girl," he growled low, running through the trees after them and starting to send waves of peace wash over her.

"Beatice, do you feel... um, calm?" Jinx asked curiously. She knew she shouldn't feel this good, like there was nothing to worry about. Wasn't I just upset about them?

 

"Should I?" Beatrice asked. "I'm still thinking about Hannah and Edward."

Hannah moved back onto the other side of the carriage. "I'll leave you alone then. I can see you're mad at me. And... you don't have to... well, what I said back there... if you don't feel the same...." She faded off, turning to look out the window.

"I did not underestimate him." John growled. "I'll be keeping a close eye on them now."

 

Edward sighed angrily. "That's not my point," he sighed. "I'm not angry, though..." he laughed lightly, and then winced, putting a hand to the side of his head. "Though you're doing a good job at irritating me now. My point," he continued before she could speak, "is that I'm angry with Lestat. That's all. I'm angry at him because of how he can control you and that, no matter what he does, I still need him and have to trust him. As for what you said..." he faded off, rubbing his bruise. "It's complicated."

 

Lestat smiled. "There's someone new nearby..." he began, his eyes turning black. "Can you tell?"

 

"Following the carriages? Yes." John replied.

Hannah rose her feet onto the bench and pulled her knees to her chest. "Do you want me to leave you alone? I can go talk to Van Helsing or something...."

 

Edward laughed more carefully this time. "I almost killed myself to get you to come with me, and now you think I want you to go away?" His smiled faded. "Hannah, that's the last thing in the world that I want right now."

 

"Do you know them?" Lestat asked. "I've no idea who it is..." The smell was something familiar and foriegn at the same time, which meant one thing: a vampire he didn't know.

 

John laughed. "My maker."

Hannah rested her chin on her knees. "I don't think Lestat gives a care about me, so you don't have to worry about that." She said carefully.

 

Edward nodded in agreement. "That doesn't mean it won't bother me, though. Damn!" He swore suddenly, the bruise on the side of his face burning. "Why won't this go away?"

 

"Oh, lovely," Lestat replied, slightly amused. "Well, I'm sure you two will have a lot to talk about since you seem to have a common interest: whomever is in those carriages."

 

"We don't get along." John grit his teeth. "I was merely a tool for him. I had to kill three werewolves on my own after my first year just so I could stay alive. He does it to all his tools."

Hannah looked at Edward sadly. "Lestat?"

 

Edward nodded. "What's worse is I can't even see it? It just feels awful."

 

"Ah, now I see where the resentment for werewolves comes in," Lestat mused. "And I thought you were just prejudice against poor Edward."

 

John sighed angrily."He could kill Hannah very easily. What is it about him that makes her goo-goo eyed?"

"Is there anything I can do?" Hannah asked, feeling guilty.
