Van Helsing

"Carl..." Jinx started, not sure exactly how to tell him to stay away politely. "Beatice is going through something, so could you, just leave her alone... for your own good. And that goes for you too, Van helsing, sorry." she shrugged as if to say, 'i'm really sorry' and then ran after Beatice and Hannah.

Carl watched the three leave. "I'm sorry, I didn't know she was..." he grit his teeth, angry at himself, "I'm just sorry. What can we do?"

 

Edward stepped over to Jinx, Carl, and Van Helsing. "He... he did it, didn't he?" he hissed, confirming what Lestat had insinuated with the blood on the ground. "Damn him!" He slammed his fists into the nearest tree. "Don't you see what he did?" Edward snarled now, turning to the three. "He's a clever, twisted, sadistic b.astard! He read her mind, seeing how left out she felt in her mind, how she would do anything to be of more help... and he did this to her? Damn him!" He turned again, putting his face in his hands, breathing heavily.

 

"Beatrice?" Hannah loosened her hold a bit.

Beatrice leaned against the carriage. "I- I think I'm okay."

"You'll get used to it." Hannah mumbled.

 

"Easy, Edward," Van Helsing mumbled. "You can't do much, Carl," he added to the poor little friar. "Just be kind and keep your distance."

 

Edward nodded his head in agreement. "Let's meet them back at the carriages when they're ready," he mutted, stalking off out of the trees.

 

Lestat folded farther into the trees, the shade merciful to his lovely, pale skin. He couldn't hear John, therefor not knowing where he was, but it did not bother him; he didn't need the man.

 

Jinx stood next to the two girls. She didn't know what to do anymore than the others and stood thinking for a moment. "Well, if you really are changing, then... you are really dangourous." she said it almost apologeticly, "How do you feel right now?" she asked.

 

Van Helsing followed Edward, staying behind him so as not to bother him. Hannah and Jinx will take care of her, he thought, knowing the werewolf could hear him.

 

That's not the point, Edward snapped, his head burning with Van Helsing's words. I need Lestat, dammit! He's just making it very hard to trust and like him right. But I have no choice...

 

"Cold." Beatrice replied.

Hannah leaned next to Beatrice against the carriage. "Try not to think about it. We should get you cleaned up though."

 

"Need him?" Van Helsing snapped aloud, grabbing Edward shoulder sharply and turning him around. "What the hell is that supposed to mean?"

 

Jinx nodded, "Yeah, here I'll get you some clothes and water, okay?" she went into the luggage carrige for a momment and came back with what she promised. Pouring some water over the clothes she handed them to Beatrice.

 

"Nothing," Edward snapped back, shobing Van Helsing off of him. "It's not your business. And," he added, feeling malicious for no reason, "you need me more than you're aware of."

With that, he stalked away, opening the door to the carriage and slamming it shut behind him as he climbed in.

 

Beatrice took the clothes to wipe away the blood on her neck and shirt.

Hannah looked away. "Jinx, you'll be more of a help to her than I will."

Beatrice paused to look at the two.

 

Jinx looked at Hannah, "Why's that?" she asked.

 

Lestat leaned against the nearest tree, thinking what he must do...

Edward needs my knowledge... Van Helsing needs Edward's knowledge... John needs me as well... what on earth would these people do without me?

 

Van Helsing looked at Carl, bewildered. "What is he talking about?"

 

Carl shrugged, equallily if not more, confused. "I don't know. he'll probably explain later, or someone else will and it'll be a big shock... but I think we'll find out soon enough."

 

Hannah sighed. "You've got more experience than me."

John smirked. Oh Hannah, you were deprived of one of the girls you wanted. You can tell me all about it tonight.

 

"Oh, that." Jinx shook her head. "Hannah I have almost exactly the same amount of experience with newborns as you do. I've just been around longer." she looked at Beatice, "We'll both help you through this, alright?"
