Van Helsing (Cont.)

"Nothing," Van Helsing muttered, not looking at Edward.

 

Jinx crossed her arms over her chest and tapped her arm, annoyed. "He just took out some anger on her." she explained, ignoring Van Helsing's look, still upset with him for making Hannah cry.

 

"Leave her alone," Edward snapped at Michael, pulling Hannah away from him. He turned her to face him, his grip tight on her shoulders. "What's the matter?" he asked softly. "Tell me so I can help; that's my job."

 

"Oh, please," Van Helsing sighed at Jinx. "Neither of you can be that sensitive, are you?"

 

Jinx shook her head. "That sensative to what? Not everyone is as immune to fear as you are." she sighed.

 

"Oh, I know," Van Helsing replied angrily, though his voice was low. "That's a disappointment I can get over. You two just need to grow up and not cry over everything... it's ridiculous."

 

"This is the first time any of us has cryed over any of the sh*t that has happened since we've all been together." Jinx answered, exasperated and angry as well. "And she has good reason by now."

Carl leaned against a wall. He could tell this was only going to get worse, knowing Van Helsing, esspecially when he was around Jinx. "Alright, are you two done?" he asked, kindly, hoping to cut it off before they actully started yelling at each other.

 

"Are you going to shut the hell up?" Van Helsing snapped at Carl, standing suddenly. He turned toward the doors of the castle and stalked away, yanking one of his guns from itw holster.

 

"You're an idiotic son of a b.itch!" Edward yelled after Van Helsing, holding Hannah tightly against him to hold himself back. "You really don't deserve to live right now!"

 

Carl flinched at Edward's words more than Van Helsing's. "that's not smart, just let him go be angry by himself before someone gets hurt."

Jinx watched Van Helsing stalk off. She barely heard what Carl said after Edward yelled. What the hell happened since we've gotten here?! We're all so messed up.

 

Hannah stood stone still against Edward. "Let me go."

Beatrice spoke up, "Hannah, I don't think-"

"Let me go." Hannah repeated slowly and firmly.

 

"No," Edward insisted. "If I let you go, I will kill him, trust me."

 

Van Helsing pulled out his gun now, cocking back the peice on the side of his hip and raising the weapon slowly. "Do it, Edward," he taunted in a low voice. "I'd like to see how fast you can move... you seem to know everything: that boy Hannah killed, however many innocents Beatrice murdered last night. Do something about it."

 

Carl looked at Bee, shocked by what Van helsing said. He couldn't understand if he was lying or not, unable to see Bee as a killer.

Jinx growled something too low to hear. Put the damn gun down...

 

Hannah remained still. "Alright. I... I don't mind."

She's scared out of her mind. Michael looked between Hannah and Beatrice. They both are.

Not able to stand the tension, Beatrice burst out of Anna's castle without a word to the others. She wrapped her arms around herself and walked, head down, towards the horses.

 

"Get back here!" Van Helsing snapped, turning to follow Beatrice with his gun. "I'm not through talking with you!"

 

Beatrice tuned out Van Helsing and picked up her pace, just wanting to be with Sorin.

 

Edward shot away from Hannah, launching himself down the hallway toward Van Helsing as fast as he could, knocking into the man at full speed.

 

"Edward!" Michael raced after him.

Hannah didn't move. What's wrong with me...?

Van Helsing cried out, struggling against Edward's arms as he tried to reach for his gun. His hat fell over onto the side of the floor as he rushed forward, almost falling over on top of the man. He pulled the trigger of the gun instinctively, firing into the ground as he and Edward stumbled out onto the cold ground. The second and third shot, the last two in the gun went off now, and Beatrice's scream barely registed in his ears.
