Van Helsing (Cont.)

Jinx walked past a window that had been blown open and heard the yell outside. "Oh no...." she ran back to the window and looked out, trying to see where exactly the yell had come from. "where are you?" she muttered, focusing on people at random, trying to see someone in a panic or, though she was hoping agianst it, Beatrice, Michael or any of the other vampires following them.

Carl found an empty guest room and found a place for their supplies to go, being careful the the guns and various weapons they had.

OOC: aww poor Bee

 

"A bit," Van Helsing muttered nonchallantly, shrugging his shoulders. "Either way, I think you'll like them... if you give them a chance."

 

OOC: no, go bee!!!

BIC: "Sorry for what?" Edward asked. "Nothing is your fault."

 

"You could have done worse," Lestat smiled. "But I'm guessing, by your attitude, your finished for the evening, yes?"

 

"I keep letting my temper get the best of me..." Hannah murmured.

"They've only got one chance with me," Anna replied icily.

 

Beatrice nodded against Lestat's chest. "Y-yeah... That was... enough..."

 

"Well, then, they won't disappoint you," Van Helsing shot back, and then turned toward the front door. "If you'll excuse me," he began now, "I've got to see to the horses and make sure the rest of my company hasn't died out there."

 

"Self-control is hard to learn," Edward began kindly. "No one expects you to have it mastered fully, especially overnight."

 

"Well, come on, then," Lestat sighed happily, turning Beatrice and pushing her foward slightly into a fast walk. "You won't want to stay around here anymore, trust me."

 

Hannah sighed. "I'm still a problem."

Anna let Van Helsing go, not wanting any more of an argument with him.

Beatrice gladly followed Lestat's lead. "Thanks," She said, smiling now.

 

Jinx spotted Beatrice, finally, and narrowed her eyes at the site of Lestat too. Something about him was starting to make her worry lately. "So where's Michael?" she asked, outloud, turning from the window to find her way downstairs to see if Bee was okay.

 

Van Helsing frowned as he pushed open the doors to the Valerias castle, looking around in the dark for any sign of Beatrice or Michael. He stopped next to Lexi and Sorin, giving them a small smile.

"Bored, are we?" he asked, and then began to lead the four horses to the stables.

 

"It's okay," Edward insisted, stretching his back against the matress of the bed, glad to feel that all the recent wounds there had finally healed. "That Anna woman won't harm you, and no one else in our company would think less of you for something you can't control... even Van Helsing, I think."

 

"Looks like one of your friends is on their way," Lestat murmured as they walked, sensing Jinx close by. "Before she gets here and disapproves of your actions, I must say I'm very proud of you for making the right decision."

 

Hannah curled into a ball. "She looked ready enough to shoot me the moment she looked at me..."

Beatrice smiled at Lestat. "I really couldn't have done it without you."

Michael folded his arms tightly across his chest and leaned against the carraige. You better be back soon, Beatrice... He thought worridly.

 

"No one is going to hurt you," Edward promised quietly, moving toward her and wrapping an arm around her waist. "That's something that you don't need to worry about."

 

"Oh, I know," Lestat chuckled happily, folding his arms over his chest and shaking back his hair. "You're on the right track now, little one; don't let those friends of yours tell you otherwise."

 

Hannah took comfort from Edward's hold. "You make everything sound so easy."

"They'll be mad...," Beatrice looked at the ground.

 

"It won't be," Edward said with a small, sad smile. "But I know I can do it, so you don't need to worry about things that aren't necessary."

 

"Well, I won't let them hurt you, little one," Lestat laughed. "You don't have to worry about that."
