Van Helsing (Cont.)

"Well, I'll just have to give you a choice, won't I?" Lestat laughed as they reached the small bar. "Just keep an eye on me and stay out of trouble. I'll let you know when you can join me again." With a small wink, he yanked opened the bar door and stepped inside.

The small room was full of dozens of tables, all crammed in and lining each of the walls, filled with noisy patrons. The back corner led up a staircase, where the owner must live, along with rooms that could be rented out to visitors. The right was was covererd by the car, the counter lined with dozens of people, all shouting in various degrees of volume. Lestat stepped through the mass of tables carefully, grinning at several women, letting his hair fall in his eyes. He came to a table toward the back of the room that had four chairs, two of which were occupied by two men.

"Excuse me," Lestat began, gesturing at the table. "May I?"

The men both scowled and laughed at him, at least a dozen empty beer mugs in front of them.

"I've company coming," Lestat began, leaning on the table, his eyes flashing red as he bared his teeth. "Move along."

The mens' eyes both widened as they rose quickly from their chairs, stumbling from all the alcohol in the their bodies, and rushed toward the back door.

Lestat chuckled to himself and sat in the nearest chair, propping one of his feet up on the chair next to him.

 

"The bar is down the hall; help yourself," Anna answered, a smile playing on her lips.

"You know I do," Hannah smiled.

Beatrice tried her best to look at natrual as she could while watching Lestat, but stares from some of the men made it exceedingly difficult.

 

Van Helsing grinned, shaking his head. "Not much fun, are you?" he said soft enough for only her to hear.

 

"Then you don't have anything to worry about," Edward insisted. "That is... if you're tired and want to find somewhere to rest."

 

It didn't take long for one of the tavern girls to wander over to Lestat's table, carrying a large empty tray to pick up all the empty glasses.

"Good evening, sir," she began politely to Lestat, and he couldn't stifle his grin when she leaned low over the table, the v-neck of her dress making him want to look away like a gentleman; he did not.

"The same, mon cherie," he replied smoothly.

"A Frechman!" the tavern girl exclaimed, pausing as she placed the last of the empty glasses on her tray. "All the way out here!"

"I travel," Lestat began, his voice sweet and soft as he reached over to touch her wrist. "Traveling the world to find... interesting places... and people."

"Have you found any yet, sir?" the girl asked, intruiged by his seductive voice.

"Oh," Lestat began in a small sigh, and the girl giggled when he pulled her down into his lap. He twisted her long, blonde hair in his fingers, playing with the strings at the back of her dress. "Sometimes I do..." he finished in a whisper.

 

"All of the guest bedrooms are in the same hall as the bar," Anna told Edward and Hannah. "You're welcome to chose any of them. And you," She looked at Van Helsing. "I'd love to show you my idea of fun some other time."

"Thank you," Hannah smiled at Anna, trying not to pay attention to Anna's small cringe. Jeez, it's not like I'm going to eat her.

OOC: sorry i wasn't on yesterday. i totally misread the date on a thingy and found out it was yesterday... yesterday. *facepalm* ^^ epic reading yet again dudets!

BIC: Oh I'm sure you would. Jinx thought, acidly, looking at the mirror carefully so she wouldn't look at Anna. "If you don't mind, Ms.Anna, I'd like to look around? You're home is lovely." she asked, as an excuse for something to do for the night.

"Intruiging," Van Helsing muttered under his breath, though he smiled.

 

Edward repeated Hannah's thanks and led her down the hall to the third door, and a thought came to his mind suddenly: "Hannah," he began. "Where are Bee and Michael right now?"

 

Lestat looked over the girl's shoulder, winking when he caught Beatrice's eye.

You see how easily they are ensnared? he began to her. They do not even know us, what we are, what we can do... come over here and I can find you a friend of your own.

"Your tavern is lively, miss," Lestat crooned aloud at the girl. "I'm interested in why so many folk are drawn to this particular building..."

"It's the wine," the girl laughed as trailed a finger along her throat. "And the company, of course," she added in a low voice.

"Oh, I shan't disagree," Lestat smiled, running his tongue along his teeth.

BIC: Hannah looked back at Edward. "Still outside," She answered. "This is hard for Bee."

Anna was quiet for a moment after Jinx's request. "I only ask that you don't go in the weapons room or my brother's room; it has his name on the door."

But- Beatrice started to object, but shook it off, knowing Lestat would already have a way around her worries. She slowly went over to Lestat, painfully aware of the following stare of one man.

BIC:Jinx turned to look at her, to be polite, "That makes sense." she agreed, "I'm not planning to go into any of your rooms, that's none of my business. Have a nice night." she smiled, shot Van Helsing a quick look, and left the room.

 

OOC: im FEEL hecka smart now... :D

BIC: Van Helsing looked between Anna and Jinx, not sure what to do. "Hey," he sighed, stepping quickly after Jinx. "You okay?" he whispered, touching her shoulder lightly.

 

"I know," Edward sighed, opening the door to the room and moving over for her to enter before him. "Just worried about her, that's all."

 

"I'm interested," Lestat began to the girl as Beatrice walked over, lowering his voice and smiling when she shivered under his hands, "in what you may be doing later this evening..."

"That depends what it's your pockets," the girl replied, her hand wandering down to his pant pockets.

"Don't do that," Lestat snapped a little harshly, pushing her hand away. He smiled when Beatrice got to the table.

"Sit, love," he said, gesturing to one of the free chairs. "I want you to meet a friend of mine," he added to the tavern girl.

 

Anna turned to Carl. "What about you?"

"I am too," Hannah said, going into the room. "I know it's... hard. And I know Michael can restrain her, but I think she needs more than that... Someone to talk to."

Beatrice sat, glancing once over her shoulder and then looking back at Lestat.

 

"She has you," Edward began, sitting on the bed in the middle of the room. "And Jinx, I guess... but you two don't seem to talk very well lately."

 

Lestat smiled at Beatrice as the tavern girl looked her up and down.

"How much does she have?" the girl asked.

"She's looking for someone else," Lestat laughed. "Do you have anyone in mind?"

"Hmm," the girl glanced around, and her eyes fell on a man by the bar.

Wasn't he looking at you? Lestat sent to Beatrice as the tavern girl waved the man over.

 

"We disagree on a lot of things," Hannah mumbled. "And I'm not the best person for Beatrice to talk to. In technical terms, I'm only three months older than her."

Beatrice stiffened and nodded. Yeah... he was.

 

Jinx nodded sharply. "Of course I am." she answered, stopping her fast walk. "I'm just... I'll see you in the morning, okay?" she looked back at the room where Anna and Carl were. "Sleep well." she touched the back of his hand for a moment, smiled, and contiued walking down the hall way.

Carl shook his head, "Hm? Oh, I think I'll find a room too. I've been reading all day." he gave her a quick smile. "Thank you very much for letting us in your home, by the way. And for not freaking out at the girls."
