"Who was with you?" Michael asked, allowing Beatrice to move a bit away from him.

 

Hannah couldn't help but cry out from the pain ripping through her head. She struggled to get away from the sources of the pain.

John stood back. "Oh, she's loving you now." He laughed.

"Lestat," Beatrice answered monotonely. "It's no big deal." Her stomach knotted and she placed a hand over it. "Could you... leave me alone for a moment?"

 

"You don't look well," Michael noted. "Are you sure you want to be alone?"

BIC: "Do you?" Van Helsing asked Anna again.

 

Shut up, Edward snapped at John. I will let you go if you calm down, he said toward Hannah. Can you do that?

 

Anna nodded. "My father studied this for years. He would have found this out."

"Ah, but your father was missing something," Carl croutched down and looked at the bottom-left corner.

Be still! John ordered Hannah.

Hannah's head burst with pain, and her vision came back as her eyes returned to their red-rings. She went limp under Edward, her head lolling to the side, and her eyes closing.

"Take her," John sighed. "I've got something special planned for her."

"Yes," Beatrice snapped. "Now. Please."

 

Michael firmly placed his hands on Beatrice's shoulder. "Tell me what you want, Beatrice. Truthfully."

 

"Something like this?" Van Helsing thought suddenly, pulling a roll encasing a peice of parchment out of his trench coat. "Something a friend of yours gave me in Rome a while back," he added to Carl's astonished look.

 

Go, Edward growled at John. But remember this; the next time you see me, you die.

 

Anna stared at Van Helsing. "You got that from whom?"

"A Cardinal," Carl answered, standing up.

"What do you care?" Beatrice asked, distracted by the sounds of the nearby houses of the Transylanians.

John laughed. "I die, she dies," He murmured, melting back into the forest.

 

"Think it through," Michael told Beatrice, seeing the look in her eyes. "Be sure about what you're going to do, and what will happen afterwards." He gently brushed a strand of her light blond hair out her face.

 

"Here," Van Helsing began, and shoved a desk out of the way that was blocking the bottom left corner of the map. He fit the missing peice of parchment back into place and stood. "Read it," he motioned to Carl.

 

Hannah, Edward began as softly as he could, touching her cheek with his nose, stepping all four of his legs off her limbs, relieving the pressure. Wake up, please. I need you awake now.

 

"Now?" Carl asked.

Anna frowned. "Yes, now."

"Okay, well," Carl knelt back down. "The translation, literally, is 'in the name of God, open this door'."

Beatrice flinched away from Michael. "Please, don't try to lecture me. I know what I'm doing, and I'm doing it for my friends."

Hannah's chest rose and fell evenly with her breath.

John laughed, the sound fading as he got further away.

"Beatrice," Michael held on to her arms. "You need to be concerned with yourself. Is this good for you? Don't do something you'll regret later. You're going to be around for a long time; you don't want regret on your shoulders."

 

Hannah, get up, Edward whispered, tilting her head back and forth with his nose now. Get up and show me you're alright.

 

OOC: bed... what's a bed? *falls asleep on floor*

BIC: Beatrice met Michael's eyes, seeing century-old pain. "What happened to you...?" She asked quietly.

Hannah moaned, her thoughts slowly recollecting. Her eyes half opened, and she took a minute to process where she was. She closed her eyes again, focusing on the sounds and smells rather than sights. Her mind wandered, drifting back towards unconsciousness.

 

Van Helsing frowned, and then his eyes widened as the map in front of them began to change, to dissolve and fade into what looked like a mirror, shining dully in the soft candlelight. He glanced over at Anna and then Carl, unsure what to say or do.

"How the hell does this help us?" he muttered after a moment.

 

No, Hannah, Edward insisted, a little more strongly. Get up now... we need to get out of these trees, understand? He bent his closer to her face, nudging her harder with his nose. Get up, he tried again. He licked her cheek with his rough tongue, pushing at her shoulder with his left paw. Now.
