"Thank you," Edward said softly.

 

"It's all talk, most of it," Lestat murmured, nodding his head in reponse to Edward's thank you. "About the people I know... I mean, they call me the brat prince; not the best reputation."

 

"I guess it would be best if I went with you." Beatrice answered.

Hannah sat still in the carriage, holding her cloak and the blanket close to her even though she wasn't cold. He couldn't have let me come along? He can't even tell me anything. How am I supposed to trust Lestat when Edward won't tell me what's going on.

 

"True," Edward replied, smiling. "What will you do, though?" he added, looking at the man next to him. "When the time comes?"

 

"You'll see," Lestat said vaguely, winking at the vampire. "I'll even get rid of the body for you."

 

OOC: OMG THAT POST WAS HUGE WOMAN! XD

BIC:Carl sighed, "Maybe 'gentle' won't work, but still... don't do anything foolish, right?"

Jinx nodded to Beatrice, "Okay, let's go get the rooms first."

 

"Agreed... to both," he added to Carl as they started walking. "This place really is ugly..."

BIC: "That's a good thing," Edward muttered, not wanting to think about. "I should probably get back to the others, though; they will get even more angry if I wait longer."

 

"The hunter, you mean?" Lestat snorted. "Do not worry on him; just keep Hannah close; you need her on your side to do what you must."

 

Hannah laid down across the bench seat, curling her legs to fit more comfortably. She adjusted the blanket and closed her eyes, deciding she may as well try to sleep through the day, and possibly escape her unending headache.

Beatrice followed Jinx and Carl silently, distracting herself from Carl's smell by worrying about Hannah.

 

Jinx remembered as they walked through the door to cast a human glamour over herself and Beatrice. She walked up to the desk and gave the attendent a smile. "Are there two rooms open?" she asked. The woman looked at the small group and nodded. After she payed and got the keys, she handed them to Carl. "All set, right?"

Carl took the keys, "Yep, looks like it. So, you two will go out for awhile right?" he asked, looking at both of them. "Be careful." he muttered, avoiding Beatrice's eyes.

Jinx smothered a grin and nodded.

 

Edward nodded, and, on what instinct or impulse he did not know, extended his hand toward Lestat. "See you when the sun goes down again, I assume?" he asked.

 

Lestat grinned, clasping Edward's hand strongly and brieftly. "Yes," he muttered before stepping off into the shadows.

 

"Go out with the sun up?" Van Helsing asked quietly, taking one of the room keys from Carl. "That's not the best idea... is it? I mean, the full moon is tomorrow night, according to the last calendar I looked at... not that that effects you, it's just... why do you think Hannah's still in the carriage?"

 

Jinx frowned. "Oh, right.... I forgot about the moon. And that hunter..." she sighed. "You're right..."

Carl glanced at a window towards the carriges. "Shouldn't we get her?" he asked.

 

Beatrice shook her head. "I think Hannah wants to be alone. She hasn't been to sociable since... you know."

 

Edward sighed, walking alone along the trees, back toward the stables, hoping everyone had left already. Let the hunter be, Lestat had said. I don't know if I can... no doubt he'll start a fight.

 

"I will be the Vampire Lestat for all to see. A symbol, a freak of nature - something loved, something despised, all of those things. I tell you I can't give it up. I can't miss. And quite frankly I am not in the least afraid."

Lestat laughed, always charmed at his own words.

 

"You forgot?" Van Helsing exclaimed. "How could...? Never mind. Let's just leave Hannah be and go talk some... logistics in a room. I'm sure Carl has some information for us all that everyone here should hear."
