Van Helsing (Cont.)

"They're coming back," Van Helsing began when he reached Jinx and Carl. "John hurt Hannah, but Michael and Edward are bringing her back... Beatrice is coming as well, I think. John... well, let's just say he's not getting up any time soon."

 

Carl was surprised by his comment about John. "What did you guys do to John?"

Jinx looked past Van Helsing to try and see the others coming.

 

OOC: kay this is my version of what carl just said: "what... did you guys DO john??!!" :roll:

"Well, I barely did anything," Van Helsing began. "Edward shot out his knees and his collarbone for touching Hannah... touchy, isn't he?"

 

Michael looked over at Beatrice. "Is your head alright?"

 

OOC: john got DOED!!?? O.o

BIC: Hannah half-sighed, half-groaned. "I'm sorry, Edward. You shouldn't have had to hear about... last night... that way."

"What? Oh," Beatrice touched the back of her head. "It doesn't hurt at all."

"And I'm supposed to ask you for help, is that it?" John seethed.

 

"You can tell me in your own words in a bit, then, if it makes you feel better," Edward said as they came out of the trees.

 

"You don't have to ask," Lestat said, running one of his fangs along his wrist slowly, letting a small bit of his blood drip on John's collarbone, then his knees. He smiled to himself as the bullets removed themselves and the flesh closed up, healing with the tiniest bit of smoke coming off the surface of the injuries. "A trick from a friend," he explained a moment later.

 

Michael smiled. "That's good. We can concentrate on Hannah then."

 

"Later," Hannah said quietly, closing her eyes again.

Beatrice was stung by Michael's words. Oh... He just wanted to make sure that I wasn't in the way... She looked down at her feet.

"This doesn't change anything." John told Lestat.

"No, stay up," Edward said as they reached Van Helsing, Carl, and Jinx, shaking her body in his arms. "You told me to keep you awake."

"I understand," Lestat said calmly. "I didn't expect it to, actually."

 

"I am awake," Hannah lied poorly.

"You're twisted," John got to his feet.

 

"Now will we leave, before you all get in trouble again?" Van Helsing asked when they came towards him.

 

"Hm," was all Edward said to Hannah. "Yes, let's go," he added to Van Helsing. "Thanks to all your help."

 

"Oh, yes," Lestat sighed happily, grinning as wide as he could. "I am!"

 

Beatrice raised her head to look at Hannah when she didn't respond. Why doesn't she want to sleep? She wondered. It seems hard for her not too. I can't even tell if she's asleep now or not.

"Next time I'll just kill her and be over with it." John muttered, turning to leave.

Michael nodded to Van Helsing. "Leaving now would be in all our best interests."

 

"I know," Van Helsing said, climbing on top of his carriage and helping Jinx up next to him. "Come on, then."

 

Edward sighed, carefully getting into Van Helsing's carriage. He lay Hannah down next to him, holding her head in his lap. "Are you feeling alright?" he asked slowly.

 

Lestat stood slowly, licking the bit of blood off his own wrist. "There will be a time when you wished you'd thanked me right now," he said softly, knowing John would hear.
