Let him come. I'd like him to see Hannah like this. John told Lestat, not breaking his focus on Hannah.

Hannah dragged in ragged breaths. "John..."

"What?" John sneered.

"Go to Hell!" Beatrice knocked John away from Hannah, tackling him to the ground.

John threw Beatrice off himself. He glanced at her crumpled body by the tree and the blood on the back of her head that stained her blond hair. "You should have stopped that, Hannah." He chided.

"Bee...," Hannah cried out when a new pain shocked through her head. "John, stop it!" She hated herself for begging, but what else could she do?

 

"John is Hannah's maker," Van Helsing explained after a moment. "He controls Hannah, words or thoughts. The other... Lestat, Bee's father... well, I'd hate to say it, but he can do anything."

 

Go, then, Lestat sighed at Edward. Just don't expect me to help.

 

"So they both can get in Hannah's mind?" Michael asked. "That's not good... Lycans are strong physically, but we have no defense against mental attacks."

 

OOC: OMFL!!!

BIC: Edward heard Lestat but did not say anything back, the venom in his body numbing the sting of the vampire's sharp tone in his mind. He poked his head around a tree, gazing ahead of him and growled loudly when he saw Beatrice on the ground. His mind reached out to John, his own voice in his head painful: Leave them alone, he hissed. How low can you be, to pick on two women alone? I'm not impressed.

 

"She didn't as a vampire, either," Van Helsing snapped, looking to the trees. "They better be back soon or I will have to go after them."

 

"Why not go after them?" Michael asked, thinking over Van Helsing's first statement.

 

OOC: what...?

BIC: John looked at Edward, masking a wince. So you came to play hero?

Hannah felt the pain start to numb her mind and body.

John moved back over to Hannah. And you were doing so well. He knelt next to and turned her head towards him. It's only two words. And now you can tell Edward too.

Weak anger rose in Hannah as she tried to turn her head away. "It was a blood exchange!" She rasped when fresh pain raked through her.

"That wasn't so hard, was it?" John stood back up.

I already assumed that, you idiot, Edward growled at John, trying his best not to listen to Hannah. And I came to get my friends and leave, that's it.

 

"Take that one," John waved at Beatrice. "Hannah doesn't get to leave."

OOC: oh lolz.

 

Lestat frowned when he felt Hannah's pain reach his own mind, and he thought for a moment. Oh, stop it, he hissed at himself, letting his body drift back down to the ground till his shined boots hit the grass lightly. Pity is not something you need right now...

 

"Because it's not my business!" Van Helsing sighed angrily. "It really isn't."

 

"So you're just going to stand by and do nothing?" Michael asked.

 

Bee, get up, Edward said sideways. Go find Lestat; he'll watch you till I finish this.

Edward turned to John and tried to breathe evenly, focusing all his energy on letting his fur melt away, feeling the dirt under his palms again until he could see his hair hanging in his eyes. He cleared his throat and rose, standing straight and glaring at John.

"You can let her go, or I will kill you now instead of later."

 

Van Helsing frowned further and stepped forward, past Michael, his gun still held in his hand. Edward, you're an idiot, he began suddenly in his mind.

"Coming?" he asked, turning his head to look back at Michael.

 

"And kill her," John retorted slyly. "Her mind has been lingering on her frustration of this little plan of hers. But she insists to herself that she do whatever you say. As she put it, she'll do anything for you; including be left in the dark in this plan of yours. Her thoughts are sickening."

Beatrice dragged herself to a sitting position. She could feel the blood in her hair, but she didn't feel any pain. She took a moment to get to her feet. She knew she'd probably end up getting in the way if she stayed, but she wanted to be of some use.

"Go," Hannah mouthed at Beatrice. She tried to focus through the constant pain, but her thoughts became incomplete and jumbled.

 

OOC: I see epicness!

BIC: Jinx heard the two leaving. "What happened?" she demanded, catching up to them.

Carl came up with her, wondering the same thing.

 

"If she wasn't so weak now, thanks to you," Edward said softly, "I could kill you now. You don't know what I do."

 

Van Helsing walked with Michael next to him, entering the trees. "Do you need a weapon?" he asked quietly.

 

Michael stiffled a laugh and shook his head.
