Van Helsing (Cont.)

Ever since I was old enough to ride a horse and wield a sword, I have had the awful curse in my personality of acting on impulses; I do things on the spur of the moment, the impulse without thinking about the consequences of later on. So many have suffered because of that, and you'd think by now I would have learned, but... it may take a few hundred years to change all that... I'm still learning...

 

Hannah attended to Coco and Saphire. "I'd still like to know about what I am. Even if it is for a short while... Wait, what do you mean survive? Edward, you never told me there was a threat to your life."

Beatrice smiled. "That's good for us."

Impluse? John seethed. Damn right you're still learning. Dracula's the only one with enough nerve to claim someone else's creation.

 

Edward hesitated just slightly as he finished putting on Lexi's tack and drawing her toward the front carriage. "I guess I failed to mention it," he murmured with a small smile, and then frowned when he saw her serious face. "I told you what I have to do is completely against my nature, and it will kill me if you aren't there to... to finish what I'll start."

 

You could finish him, Lestat laughed. Hell, we both could finish him together without much worry or trouble at all... which reminds me, do you know where they are headed now?

 

Michael shrugged. "If I'm given a chance." He walked out of the room, smiling to himself at how Beatrice followed him.

 

"Edward," Hannah spoke his name slowly, an emotion she had no name for building in her. "I can't do this if I'll lose you." With slow deliberation, she unknotted Saphire's mane.

"Van Helsing didn't like any of us at first," Beatrice said. "I think it's just a matter of time before Edward likes you."

Anna Valerious's castle. Dracula's old home. John answered unenthusiastically.

 

"Yes, well," Michael headed outside, pulling up Beatrice's hood when she didn't. "I'll try my best to not be an interference."

 

Edward turned to her, his smile back in place again. "You won't," he said softly, placing his hands on her shoulders. "We can do it togther, and you'll be there, so what could go wrong?"

OOC: okay, so i found this quote from an interview with brad pitt right after the filming of Interview with the Vampire. YAY!

"You have to follow vampire logic-once you’re a vampire, male and female doesn’t matter."

 

I'm sorry, but I'd just love to let them figure out how to get into this Dracula's castle, and then go and finish the monster myself; not let that stupid hunter and his friends have the satisfaction. And I love showing off my powers, of course. The both of us... I'd love to see what's left of him by the end of it.

Hannah purposefully kept her eyes on Saphire's mane. "Lot's of things. I don't know what I'm doing so I could do something wrong."

Beatrice guided Michael towards the stable. "So... you intend to take Jake's horse? I don't know if it's a mare or stallion. How good are you with horses?"

I have no intention of working with you. John retorted. Do what you want on your own. Once Hannah's dead, I'm leaving.

"No, you're not," Van Helsing laughed as they left the inn. "You'd just like me to think that."

 

"Fair enough to know what I'm doing," Michael responded, letting Beatrice guide him, though he knew where he was going. "Perhaps we should slow. Hannah and Edward are there and I don't think she'd appreciate an interruption right now."

 

"What you have to do is in your own instinct, just like any other vampire," Edward replied, trying not to let his eyes drift to her neck. "You'll be fine if you do what I say, and trust me: what I'll ask won't be treatening to your own life at all. It will safe us both, if nothing."

 

Lestat laughed. You know you'd like to think about it, he continued happily. Really now: getting rid of this famous "Dracula" on an impulse; you think things out too much, my friend! Live and let live, as I always say!

 

"Okay... I'll just... do what comes naturally, I guess," Hannah bent over to check Saphire's hooves, twisting her hair into a bun so it wouldn't fall in her face.

"Oh," Beatrice automatically slowed her pace. "You said before that Hannah shouldn't get mad. Why?"

John shook his head, drifting towards the stables. I don't want any trouble with Dracula.

 

"A lycan's most powerful and uncontrolable emotion is anger," Michael explained. "When a lycan's anger gets out of control, its want to kill increases and... there's really no stopping it. Whomever made it angry better be faster or stronger than the lycan."

 

Trouble? Lestat laughed. You think two creatures such as us could be troubled by him?

 

"I'll do it soon," Edward began suddenly. "I can't stand another moon, and I don't want you to have to suffer like you are now."

 

"I'm not suffering," Hannah objected, standing up. "I'm just confused." She shook her hair free and settled it over her shoulders.

"I see," Beatrice cringed at the thought.

You underestimate him. John replied. I'm sure you two are evenly matched.
