Van Helsing (Cont.)

"What happened?" Edward asked, pulling away from her just enough to look into her eyes. "Where did you go?"

 

Michael shrugged. "He's very strong. He impaled me and I bled to death... in front of Seline.... It took me a few hours, but I came back. Lycans can only die if one of their own kills them." He looked at Van Helsing. "You don't have to help. Marcus is drawn to power, so I figure if I find the strongest vampire here, I'll find Marcus. When he kills someone, he takes their power, memories, everything."

 

"Oh..." Jinx frowned in thought. "So that'd probably be either Beatrice or Lestat... depending on how you look at it, right?" she asked.

 

"Um, Greece, I'm pretty sure." Hannah said after a moment. "Oh, Edward, it was so beautiful. You should have seen it."

You little wench! John shouted in Hannah's mind.

Hannah cringed against Edward, only barely biting back her cry of pain. "John..."

Get away from him! John ordered.

Hannah stiffly moved away from Edward, her eyes on the ground.

Beatrice shuddered. "He sounds... scary."

 

"Well, Dracula should be strong enough," Van Helsing spoke. "You can come with us, if you'd like, as long as you help us kill him if we need it."

 

"What's wrong?" Edward asked immediately, reaching out a tentative hand. "What is it?"

 

Lestat slowed his walking, his ears catching a few, vague, telepathic words. Something wrong, Edward? he asked quietly.

 

"Fine," Michael agreed to Van Helsing. "Killing vampires is easy work for lycans. And yes," He added to Beatrice. "Marcus is scary."

 

"John," Hannah groaned in answer, holding her head.

Give me one good reason to let you live. John growled.

"There's room with Carl, I think." Beatrice offered. "Or you could sit with me."

OOC: Carl's got compettition!

 

John's bothering her, worse than usual, Edward snapped quickly at Lestat. Stop him!

"Come on," Edward insisted, grabbing her arm and pulling her toward the inn. "Let's get inside and maybe that will help. What is he so mad about?"

 

Sorry, Lestat began. I can't get on his bad side. You're going to have to deal without my help for now.

 

OOC: WHOOPS! i forgot about him for a second there XD

BIC: Jinx looked dilerberatly away from Beatrice so she could hid her smile. Poor Carl

Carl hid his annoyace at her words, "Seems like we've got yet another addition." he said, cheerfully as he could.

 

"What shall I do about Edward and Hannah?" Van Helsing asked after a moment, looking down at Jinx. "If Hannah's even back..."

 

"Either will work for me." Michael smiled at Beatrice.

 

Hannah stumbled after Edward. "I... I'm not sure."

Hannah! John shouted. Stop right there.

Hannah's legs locked in place. "Edward... pick me up..."

Beatrice smiled back and then looked at Van Helsing. "What do mean? Why do you have to do anything?"

 

"She's right..." Jinx nodded at Beatrice, "You should probably just leave them alone while Edward's pissed off at you."

Carl moved over slightly to give more room on the bed he was sitting on. "Here, there's enough room." he said politely.

 

Edward swore under his breath at Lestat's response and scooped Hannah up by the back of her knees, cradling her close to his chest, wrinkling his new silk shirt. "It's going to be fine," he whispered in her ear. "Don't worry."

 

"Okay," Van Helsing nodded. "If you think that's a good idea..."

 

Hannah squeezed her eyes shut, staying as close to Edward as she could.

Hannah! John yelled after her. He cursed aloud and struck the tree nearest him, breaking the trunk.

"Oh, right." Beatrice held back a laugh. "But Van Helsing didn't do anything wrong."

 

"Sorry?" Van Helsing asked Beatrice, not understanding.
