Van Helsing (Cont.)

"I can tell." Michael murmured.

 

"I don't like not knowing what will happen." Hannah spoke quietly. She met Lestat's eyes with her own burning gold. "I trust you."

"Come on." Beatrice pulled Carl back into Edward's room.

"Now I really don't think-" Carl stopped and stared at Michael. "I- is that h-him?"

Beatrice nodded and smiled. "We think he can help Hannah. If Lestat hasn't."

 

Michael inclined his head to Carl. "A monk, I pressume."

"Actually," Carl began routinely. "I'm just a friar."

 

Edward growled once more, holding his head between his hands, his eyes down on his boots. "Bee," he began quietly. "Do you know where Van Helsing put my shirt?"

 

"Do it, then," Lestat challenged after a moment, pushing his wrist closer to her mouth. "I can stop you if you hurt me, you know."

 

"Ah yes," Carl answered before Beatrice could. "I'll go get it." He scurried out of the room.

Beatrice rolled her eyes. "He's jittery. I wonder if it has to do with what he found out yesterday."

Hannah sunk her fangs through Lestat's skin, her eyes closing the moment his blood touched her mouth. She felt a pleasent shiver run down her spine as the sweet, rich taste flowed down her throat.

 

Michael glanced at Edward. He's quite the character.

 

Isn't he? Useful, though, Edward said to Michael quickly. "I don't know," he spoke to Beatrice. "I think that's how he always is."

 

Lestat stifled a moan that wanted to escape his lips when he felt her lips on his skin, burying his face in her hair. Memories flooded his mind as he gripped Hannah close to him as tight as he could; thoughts, moments of others. Their names raced through his mind, but he pushed the images away, focusing on the delightful pain in his wrist, shutting his eyes and licking his lips.

 

Beatrice sat down on the bed. "I guess so."

"Here it is." Carl came back in the room with Edward's shirt. "Mind if I ask where you got it?" He handed the shirt to Edward.

Hannah groaned at Lestat's tightened grip, but didn't move. She held on tighter to Lestat's wrist, the sensation of blood pushing her to her limit.

 

Michael eyed the shirt. Looks expensive. He thought to himself. Seems like this IS a very assorted group. Werewolf, vampire newborn, friar, and a lycan so far. And there's still two more.

 

Just wait for the hunter and the other vampire, Edward snapped at Michael, getting a little fustrated. "My friend Lestat got me the shirt," he spoke aloud to Carl. "He stole it, I'm sure."

 

"Amazing," Lestat whispered, his voice half a moan as he spoke into the top of her head. "You should... trust yourself... a lot more..." he faded off, almost pushing his arm harder against her mouth.

 

"Oh my," Carl muttered.

"He certainly has his own way of doing things." Beatrice commented.

Hannah's draws became harder, longer, as she lost herself to her wants.

 

Michael stared at Edward. "Hunter?" He repeated aloud. "You're traveling with a hunter?"

 

"Yes," Edward said, both at Beatrice and Michael. "But the sun is rising... hopefully they'll all be back soon."

 

"Hannah..." Lestat began, slowly opening his eyes. He felt more pain starting in his arm, going up into his chest and head, waking his senses. "Hannah, look at me."

 

"Why are you traveling with a hunter willingly?" Michael questioned.

 

"He's not just a hunter," Beatrice said firmly. "He's a friend too."

Hannah let go of Lestat, pulling her fangs out of him, and gasping for breath. She opened her eyes, now ringed with red, and looked at Lestat.

 

"True," Edward nodded in agreement, raising his head. "I told you we all had similar goals."
