Van Helsing (Cont.)

Hannah rolled onto her side, closer to Lestat. "Edward," She murmured in a sigh.

"I come from a trusting town." Beatrice shrugged. "Everyone knew everyone. We all traded with each other, and some of us would go into town occasionally; Hannah's town."

 

Michael raised an eyebrow. "Hannah? Is that the other lycan?"

 

Edward swallowed another growl, though he was sure they could both hear the low, meancing rumble in his chest. "Please don't speak about her in front of him until I say so, Bee," he muttered softly, trying to be kind.

 

"Hmm," Lestat muttered into her hair, wrapping her close to his chest. "You'll see him soon, trust me." Now sleep, he whispered in her head, grinning at how cold she was against him. Dreaming isn't fun, so try not to.

 

Hannah sighed, smiling, and settled in to sleep.

"Sorry." Beatrice mumbled.

 

Michael smiled, glad he'd found out a name.

 

"It's okay," Edward sighed as they reached the inn. "You know," he added. "I think the others are still in the woods now anyway."

 

Lestat smiled, shutting his own eyes, though not even thinking about sleeping. I'm sure Edward would love to see this, he thought happily.

 

"Oh," Beatrice exclaimed. "Well should we go get them? It IS Jinx and Van Helsing. I don't think those two should be alone."

 

"So how many are in your group?" Michael couldn't resist asking the question. He noticed the sun was rising. That's both good and bad.

 

"Let them be," Edward said as they reached the room he had the key for. "Maybe if they come back on good terms, she can help him understand... this one," he finished, gesturing at Michael. "And there are six of us," he added.

 

Lestat glanced just over his shoulder at the window, seeing a small lightening beginning on the horizon. Faster than I thought, he murmured in his head.

 

Beatrice nodded. "Hopefully Van Helsing won't be in a bad mood."

Hannah squirmed on the bed, her fingers knotting in Lestat's shirt, her eyes squeezing shut tighter.

 

"Six?" Michael breathed. "Incridible."

 

"I don't know," Edward sighed, ignoring Michael. "It's very hard to tell with him."

 

"Feeling any better?" Lestat muttered, rubbing his long, cold fingers along her back. "You seem comfortable enough."

 

Hannah murmured an unintagible answer. She opened her golden eyes, not startled to find how close she was to Lestat. "It's over...?"

"Unfortunatly." Beatrice muttered.

 

"Shouldn't you get inside?" Michael asked Beatrice. "The sun's coming up."

 

"I really don't know what Jinx sees in him," Edward grumbled, going over to sit on the nearest bed. "And I'm guessing Carl's asleep in the other room."

 

"Hmm," was all Lestat said in response, stopping himself from leaning close to her face. "I'm guessing so, since it's almost dawn and you're feeling better, yes?"
