He's not very menacing, is he? Lestat thought toward Hannah. I'm still not impressed.

BIC: "No," Van Helsing snapped. "That part's taken care of. What about the other hunter? And John? And Will?"

 

Hannah gave Lestat a small nod, still glaring at Van Helsing.

"It's," Beatrice hesitated. "Different than what I'm used to."

 

"Oh, John shall not interfere, my little friend," Lestat spoke up, his voice purposefully coated in a soft, low, charming tone. "You can handle Will, trust me... and the hunter can be crushed by Edward in a moment. What have you to worry about besides your... tiny Dracula issue?"

BIC: "I can see that." Jinx said, understandingly. "I hope you're not too unhappy with all our... problems that you're pulled into."

 

Van Helsing swallowed several retorts. "All that can be true... except Dracula isn't a small problem."

 

"But tonight Dracula will be a small problem compared to other things," Edward muttered seriously.

 

Hannah realized she was clenching the sheets of the bed and forced her hands into her lap. Why am I so angry? She puzzled to herself, irritation ebbing its way to mix with her anger.

Beatrice shook her head. "Different is good."

"Where are your other friends?" Lestat asked aloud, not to anyone in paticular.

 

"I'm glad you think so." Jinx smiled, "I agree, actully." she looked over at the window, "Looks like the suns going down soon."

 

"Downstairs in the barroom, which should be empty soon," Van Helsing muttered when no one else answered.

 

Hannah found herself leaning towards her sense of smell and tuning out the voices and sights in the room. She closed her eyes, trying to bring her focus back by listening to the voices.

Beatrice cracked a smile. "That's kind of good."

 

"Hannah?" Edward began suddenly, walking over to her and kneeling in front of her. "What's wrong?"

 

"What do you think?" Lestat said softly, his smile finally fading.

 

"Sort of... yeah." Jinx looked around the emptying room, "But then again, there's Hannah." she crossed her arms over her chest, worriedly.

Carl looked at Hannah, "Is she going to be alright tonight?"

 

Hannah stiffly shook her head, gripping the bedding again. "Carl... leave."

Beatrice nodded slowly. "But Lestat will take care of her."

 

Jinx frowned very slightly. "That's good." she said simply.

Carl looked around the room and then stepped out of the room quickly.

 

"Come on, Carl," Van Helsing muttered, grabbing Carl's arm. "Let's go see the girls downstairs."

 

"What can I do?" Edward asked, looking at Hannah and then Lestat.

 

"Just... give me a minute." Hannah replied, not moving. She moved her hands to her head, the feeling of it splitting apart increasing.

Beatrice smiled. "It is."
