Van Helsing (Cont.)

"Can you hear voices?" Edward said after a moment.

 

Lestat nodded. "It's your hunter friend," he grinned. "This will be fun."

 

"Do I really have to deal with him right now?" Hannah muttered. "He's only going to make things worse."

 

"I know..." Jinx replied quietly. "I still hope you're right."

Carl shrugged, knocking. "Probably."

 

"Carl and I would just like to talk," Van Helsing said to the door, raising his voice a little.

 

"Shall we let them in?" Edward asked, glancing uneasily at Lestat.

 

"Go ahead." Hannah murmured. "But I don't think Van Helsing will be happy to see Lestat."

"We'll just have to see, I guess." Beatrice responded.

 

Edward rose and opened the door slightly. "Yes?" he asked politely.

 

Lestat rose from the bed, giving Hannah a wink before he glided, faster than light, to the window. He leaned against it, letting his hair fall into his eyes, the sharpness, sweetest smile on his face.

"I'm trying to look innocent," he whispered.

 

"Like I said," Van Helsing began as clamly as possible. "We'd like to come in and talk about what's going to happen after the sun goes down."

 

"Yeah..." Jinx leaned back in her chair and scanned the crowd in the bar, people watching. "So what do you think about all this anyway?" she asked, after a moment.

Carl noticed Lestat standing in the room and suddenly appear at the windowWell that's a spin on things... what the heck is he trying to do? Look menasing or something...

 

Hannah smiled, a bit dizzed by Lestat's pose. "You're doing it perfectly." She whispered back.

Beatrice tilted her head. "About what?"

 

"Come in," Edward said calmly, moving out of the way.

 

Van Helsing walked past Edward, followed by Carl. He froze when he saw Lestat at the window.

"What the hell is he going here?" he snapped at Edward, pulling his gun out of its holster.

 

Lestat laughed quietly, smiling to himself still. "I mean no harm," he chuckled aloud, raising his long, white hands as if in a gesture of innocence.

 

"Put that away," Edward sighed, shutting the door. "If you even touch him I'll kill you myself."

 

"Leave him alone." Hannah ordered Van Helsing, her voice practically a growl.

 

"Alright," Van Helsing sighed, putting his gun away. "What do you two plan to do in an hour or so?"

 

"Hannah will be safe, far away from here," Edward said calmly. "Do you need to know every single detail to make you happy?"

 

"All of this, what we're doing." Jinx clarified. "What do you thikn about it?"

Carl sighed quietly, having guessed this was going to happen.
