Van Helsing (Cont.)

Van Helsing gave Edward a look for a moment and then followed Jinx quickly. "Why is it she's having such a problem but you're running out here with us?" he asked quickly.

"Hannah," Edward began, taking either side of her face in his hands and making her look directly at him. "Calm down... tell me what I can do to help you; we need you out there if something really bad is going on. Do you understand? We boys can't do this alone."

D wished he still had his horse with him at this point, remembering leaving it at the vampire's castle. He'd be at the village by now instead of just walking as he was now.

Dracula smiled as he surveyed each of his new children, admiring their techniques despite the immaturity of many of them. He looked to the Valarious castle in the distance.

"What is taking you so long, Gabriel?" he wondered aloud. "After all we've been through, you were much swifter on your own. Pity."

Hikari dropped the body of a skinny male villager to the ground, amazed at the fact that, despite the ten pints of blood she had just drained from his body, how unsatisfied her thirst still was.

"I wonder what's so special about that Mary girl," she thought, happily drifting a few inches off the ground toward her next victim. "Why would the master give her a special task and not me? I'll make him proud; I'll kill every traitorous vampire in league with that Gabriel. You'll see..."

 

Beatrice ignored Michael's command. "Don't be scared, Carl." She said as she extended her hand to him.

Michael didn't chance the situation getting any worse. In half the time it takes to blink your eye, he was next to Beatrice, holding her arms behind her back. "Let it go, Beatrice." He whispered into her ear. "Don't let this control you. We need your help. We can't... I can't do this without you."

"It's too much," Hannah groaned. She could hear Edward's heartbeat; Van Helsing's moving heartbeat; Carl's heartbeat in the barn, quickened by fear. Then, the idea coming to her suddenly, she bit down on her tongue. The blood was her own, but it was just enough to take her mind off feeding. "Sorry." She murmured. "I still don't know if I can go out there."

 

"Because she is an almost newborn lycan. Because I am old enough to keep a grip on myself. And because no werewolf will kill you for shooting me if I do lose contol." Jinx answered, still unable to look him in the eye. She knew what she was asking of him was unfair, she would not be able to hurt him if the situations were reversed. Still, the two hunters couldn't do it on their own and she wasn't about to let them get themselves killed so easily.

Mary flew up to the church's steeple to survay the whole town. She kept looking for the werewolf but she could tell by the scents in the air that only humans and vampires were around so far. "Where are you?" he hissed, getting more impatient by the moment. She watched the castle carefully for a moment, debating leaving the town and looking for him directly.

Carl knew better than to belive Bee and kept himself as far back in the stable as possible while Micheal held her.

 

"Right," Van Helsing said shortly. He didn't look down at Jinx, keeping his eyes directly ahead of him purposefully. "We're going to the stables first to get Beatrice and Michael, alright?"

Edward nodded. "You're alright," he said quietly. "We need your help, Hannah. I know you can do this if you concentrate. Listen... if we can take care of this tonight, you'll be free forever. Everything will be fine if we can just do this together... I promise."

"I'm going into town," D said shortly, and headed off on his own, knowing the rest of them would catch up later.

Background: Hikari had been working at the local brothel since she was fourteen, all of her family dead or missing due to the vampire infestation of the local area. To keep food and a roof over her head she worked for the owner of the tavern, getting to know all the other girls as they came and went. She's always felt that she had a higher purpose, something more important to do than the demeaning work she did now, and now she will have her revenge! MUWHAHAHAA!!

background: Mary was thrown onto the streets as a child because her fammily could not afford another child. She was welcomed to live at the local brothel for a few weeks before the owner told her to either work or leave. By befriending Hikari, learning the tricks of the trade, and always being the first to step foward in any situation, she kept ahead. Now with a new opprotinity like Dracula, she won't be letting herself slip unnoticed into the crowd of new brides. She'll do anything to keep on top.

BIC: Mary weighed her options and launched off her perch towards the castle. Soon the scent of other non humans hit her. "ugh, how disgusting." she spoke aloud to herself after smelling lycan and werewolf. She headed straight for the window with the strongest scent.

 

OOC: yay for pushiness! XD

BIC:Van Helsing and Jinx reached the stables and looked at Michael, Carl, and Beatrice. "Is everything alright?" he asked.

Edward waited for Hannah's response to see if she was okay.

D gracefully unsheathed his beautifully long sword and launched himself into the village, jumping ten feet in the air and landing on his feet in front of three vampire brides. The first he sunk his sword into easily, slicing her into two parts from the torso up. The other two screeched in livid anger at him, but he only decapitated one and punched the other to the ground before snapping her neck with the heel of his boot. He quickly cut the heads off of the two incapacitated immortals and headed forward to the next... and the next...

"Gabriel..." Dracula chanted to himself, as if it were a calming mantra as he flew around the top of the town, taking in the deliciously continuous noise of blood and terror below him. "Come to me, Gabriel... I'm waiting..."

 

Jinx didn't want to wait for an answer so she turned her attention to the question of how to keep Bee under control. She seriously doubted the girl would do anything more than walk into town and add to the killing spree.

Carl looked from Micheal and Bee to Van Helsing and Jinx. "I'll just go with them." he said, knowing Van helsing well enough to predict a fight coming along.

Jinx's attentino snapped to him. She was going to protest but then she got a good look at Bee and she shrugged. He won't be any safer here.

Mary flew into the room Edward and Hannah occupied. "Are you Edward?" she asked him sweetly.

 

"Of course you're coming, Carl," Van Helsing agreed. "Just what exactly we're up against I'm not sure."

Edward jumped slightly and automatically shoved Hannah behind him. "Who the hell are you?" he snapped.

 

Hannah put a hand on Edward's shoulder. She was more fit than he to take on a new-born. Don't worry about me. She's a new-born, Edward. Her fangs could do more damage than mine.

 

"I'll take that as a yes." Mary commented, her gaze wandering around the room casually until she looked at Edward again. "Calm down darling." she laughed lightly, falling into her old act. She took quick steps towards them, landing just outside his personal bubble. "I won't bite too hard. I'm just here to pick up alittle something I've been told you..." she him over quickly to see if whatever it was was visible. "have taken from Dracula's castle. Now will you be a dear and give it here? Then I can be on my way and leave you two love birds to yourselves." for the first time her eyes flicked to Hannah.

"lets head out then?" Jinx half asked. "We can't leave him out there alone..." she said, indicating D.

 

"What about you two?" Van Helsing said in response, jerking his head toward Michael and Beatrice. "It seems everyone else is... under control, but I'm not sure where you stand."

Edward felt a low growl of defense grumble in his chest, and his eyes narrowed. "He's made more of you, then," he snapped aloud, almost as a question. He could feel in nails lengthening into claws and his teeth begin to itch into sharp fangs, but he held his ground. "That b.astard of the devil made more mindless brats to come take care of us because he can't do it himself? Pathetic..."

 

Mary shook her head with almost a pitying smile and let go of her seductress tone. "You speak as though he is the devil in this picture. But you're the traitors to your own people. He saved myself and all the other girls like me from a life of kneeling to men worth less than the dirt they walk on. What have you done but turned against your own kind? Who have you ever saved or helped?" her voice was level as she watched Edward's aggitation grow. "Now, help me alittle here and just give back whatever you stole, hm?" she held out a slim hand to him, waiting.

Jinx looked at Beatice sadly. She waited for the responce but still didn't trust the girl Micheal had to hold back from killing a friend to help them.
