Van Helsing (Cont.)

Jinx shrugged. "What's the point?" she asked, beginning to turn back to the room.

Mary smirked also glacning towards the other girls. "Alright. Block me if you can." she teased, stepping foward faster than she was trying to and cutting her hand upwards to hit Hikari in the sternum.

"Hey," Van Helsing started suddenly, grabbing her arm and turning her back around. "If you really want to know, I'm just a bit embarrassed, alright?"

"Ha!" Hikari exclaimed, making to dodge the punch. It only caught her in the shoulder; she was fast, but not fast enough. "Seems we're evenly matched so far," she began. "But can you beat this?" She spun and kicked at the wall, sending pieces of it flying once again. She grabbed a large chunk midair and hurled it at Mary.

 

"What are you embarassed about?" Jinx asked, looking into his eyes fully.

Mary laughed as she watched the peice of wall hurtle towards her. She made a slip second descion to let it hit her, just to see what would happen. It slammed into her chest but, to her surprise, it feelt as though a pebble had hit her. It still hurt alot because of Hikari's strength in throwing it though. "Ow, you pack a punch." she complimented, picking up the rock and squeezing it until is crumbled.

 

"What do you think?" Van Helsing retorted, though his tone was neutral. "What happened in that damned castle."

Hikari's eyes widened for a moment. "I'm impressed," she said, returning the grin. "Very... surprised as well."

 

Jinx thought about how to help him with that. "You aren't the one who should be embarassed by that." she slowly came out with. "Out of all us who are supposed to be faster, stronger, and see clearer, no one stopped a stupid rock from hitting you. It isn't your fault at all." she ended, looking at him honestly. "No one thinks any less of you, esspically not me, okay?"

"Me too. This is..." Mary trailed off, thinking of all the could now do. "Do you think we have any special ablities like that transporting thing he did?" she asked suddenly.

OOC: AHH! i have to be up in 4 and a half hours! lol night

 

Van Helsing sighed, unsure what to say to Jinx. "All I know is we could have ended but didn't because of me. And, obviously, that's not something I want to repeat."

Hikari flexed her fingers, smiling as the torn skin on the knuckles healed before her eyes. "I don't think so," she replied slowly. "At least not yet... maybe as we... evolve. I'm not sure what the right words are."

Dracula suddenly reappeared in the foyer of the castle, thirty more women behind him.

OOC: thats right im a f-ing badass!! XD

 

Jinx shrugged, knowing her attempt at comforting him had failed. "Then it won't. This will be the last time we ever fight him, end of story." she stated firmly, leaving no room for argument over her terrible logic.

Mary nodded, unhappy with the answer. She decided to ask Dracula later but let the subject drop for the moment as he walked in.

"What makes you so sure?" Van Helsing muttered. "God knows what he's doing right now and we're all... just sitting here. Edward can b.itch about coordinating our attacks all he wants but he'd still rather sit with Hannah and do nothing."

Hikari frowned. "How many other those do you really plan to get?" she asked, nodding her head at the other women like they were stray dogs he'd brought in out of the rain.

Dracula sighed. "You all stay here. I will be in that room," he paused slightly, motioning an elegant hand toward the nearest room's door.

"When I call for any of you," he continued, looking around at the mortal crowd. "Come in... one after another."

Hikari opened her mouth. "I don't understand what's-"

"Enough, then," Dracula cut off, and went to the room, grabbing a blonde by the shoulder as he went. "You come with me."

 

"I'm sure because it's true." Jinx answered, still without a scrap of back up. "Stop thinking about it." she added, knowing he would argue.

Mary watched the two disapear deep in throught. She ran her fingers along the wall, tracing the permieter of the room.

 

"Sorry, it's just hard to believe," Van Helsing sighed, taking off his hat and running a hand through his hair. "Nothing against... you."

"Guess he's serious about the whole 'master' thing, huh?" Hikari muttered.

 

"Oh I don't take any offense." Jinx replied easily. "I just want you to think about more important things."

"I guess under everything, all men are men." Mary laughed quietly to herself. "I don't mind it from him though. Even with a 'master', this is so free... what do you think about it?" she asked.

"Like what, little Jinx?" Van Helsing sighed, rolling his eyes.

Hikari thought for a moment. "I'm just having some issues listening to this guy as much as he'd wish."

 

"I don't know." Jinx answered, rolling her eyes back at him. "Like what to do when we get to the castle, or something useful like that. Anything more productive than 'what if' blah blah blah."

Mary nodded, thoughtfully. "Until we know how far we can go, let's just go along with what he wants. Better safe than sorry for the moment."

 

"You are..." Van Helsing began, suddenly grabbing Jinx's shoulders and pushing her back to pin her against the wall. "You're still being... extremely difficult."

Hikari nodded. "True," she murmured, thinking still. "How many are there of us now, though? Fifty? We're the first; that's got to mean something."

 

Jinx raised an eyebrow at him as he pushed her against the wall. "What did you expect?" she asked innocently.

Mary looked over at the still human girls who where whispering to themselves and huddled together. "I should hope so." she said, looking away from them almost disgusted.

 

Van Helsing smirked and let out a small laugh. "I guess you're right," he muttered. "Sorry..."

Dracula let open the door of the room and the blonde girl stumbled out of the room.

He gave Hikari and Mary a wink before asking for the next girl.

Hikari folded her arms against her chest, looking at the ground. She didn't have anything to say.

 

Jinx shook her head. "don't be sorry. I'm only trying to distract you anyways." she admitted with cocky smile.

Mary watched the newest vampire regain contorl of herself and looking around in fasination. "I wonder what he would do if I did that?" she wondered to herself, thinking of turning a weak human into a a beautiful strong vampire too. He seemed to do it so easily....

 

"You're going to have to try harder, then," Van Helsing retorted, tightening his grip on her arms.

"I don't think it's the same," Hikari began. "He's different than us..." But she faded off, the smell from all the mortal girls starting to bother her a bit. He better hurry up and turn all these women before we start eating each other...

 

"Oh i don'tk now, I think I'm doing just fine." Jinx countered, looking up at the ceiling.

Mary noticed Hikari's attention and hunger. She was starting to crave blood as well. "We'll see... I really would love to see that transformation from myself though..." she found herself focusing in on one particular girl from her own old group. It was, to her surprise, one of the girls she didn't like very much. But now she smelled heavenly. "He can't be so different from us really. He made us into this."

 

"Really, now?" Van Helsing snapped quietly. "And are you really saying I don't distract you at all?"

"It can't be that easy," Hikari muttered.
