Van Helsing (Cont.)

Van Helsing couldn't help it; he broke into a grin and clapped Jinx hard on the shoulders before letting her go.

"Carl," he began suddenly, "this woman is giving a run for your money as my favorite, you know!"

"Amazingly brilliant, isn't it?" Dracula said softly to his newest wife. "Now, ladies... shall we leave this place?"

He didn't wait for a response from any of them; he quickly gathered all the strength he needed from his consciousness and encompassed all the women in the room with it, every living being and two vampires... and, within seconds, they stood in the main foyer of his castle.

 

After watching Jinx and Van Helsing exchange witty banter, Beatrice decided that she needed to see Sorin. With a small word to Hannah of where she was going, she headed outside. It took her until she was down the stairs to realize that Michael was following her.
"What do you want?" She asked, slightly irritated that he didn't ask to come with her. She kept walking.

"I'm concerned for you," Michael answered, coming closer to Beatrice now. He easily matched her pace. "You're changing."

"Nice observation," Beatrice muttered. "What do you care?"

"You have no one to talk to," Michael added.

"I have Lestat," Beatrice objected.

"And you trust him?" The lycan questioned.

"Are you suggesting that I shouldn't?" Beatrice retorted. "You don't know the first thing about him."

"I know that he's made you into something you're not," Micheal replied quietly.

Beatrice stopped outside the stables. "Keep out of my business. I don't need your approval to care about someone. Especially Lestat. Now, please, leave me alone."

With a sigh, Michael let Beatrice go into the stables alone.

 

Jinx watched Beatice and Micheal leave. "Lucky Carl." she added to Van Helsing's words.

Carl smiled, "That's alright. When you get her mad and she tries to kill you, I know where you'll run."

Mary looked around excitedly. "How did you do that? Can I do that?" she questioned, curiously. Still unfamilar with her speed and stregth, when she tried to run a few feet to one side for a better look of the room, she found herself already at the far end. "Are you going to change them all now?" she asked, distracted again. It surprised her how hard it was to keep her thoughts in one direction, there were so many more ways to go now.

 

"I'll run to the nearest stake," Van Helsing joked. "And by the looks of it, you're not one, Carl."

What are you thinking about? Edward interjected into Hannah's mind, stopping whatever thought process she had going at the moment. You're quiet.

"All in good time," Dracula answered, a bit annoyed by the new vampire's energy. "Right now you'd best learn some control and settle down."

Hikari looked around at the spacious castle ceilings and smiled. "Mary," she began. "Is it really that great? Tell me."

 

"it's marvelous." Mary answered Hikari, lowering her tone and trying to calm herself down, sensing Dracula wouldn't have any problem getting rid of her if she was annoying. She took up her friend's hands. "Being human was all pain for us. How many nights did you fall asleep powerless? Everynight!" she answered her own question immediatly. "But no man or madame could be more powerful than I am or you will be. This man is a better savior than the church ever could be." her hand flew to her mouth as she spoke, shock filling her eyes at her own words.

"Carl is better than some silly stake." Jinx scoffed. "What would you do? throw it at me? Oooh, i'm terrified."

Carl looked throughtful, "A stake with a bomb on it.. maybe timed to explode at the right time... that would be more useful. Esspically if the bomb was lined with silver." he thought aloud.
Jinx looked from Van Helsing to Carl. Then she pointed towards the little inventor. "He's ten times more threatening than you are right now."

 

Van Helsing scoffed. "Then go play with Carl," he muttered, folding his arms over his chest.

Hikari smiled widened into a large grin. "Alright then," she muttered, and turned to Dracula. "I'm next; there's no other girl here better than me."

Dracula licked the corner of his right fang and narrows his eyebrows. "Why do you say that, my love?" he asked quietly.

"Because I'm already fast and strong," Hikari countered quickly. She daringly walked up to Dracula and put her arms around his neck, staring into his eyes. "Go on then..." she whispered. "Bite me."

 

Jinx laughed. "You are so easy Gabriel." she teased him, walking over to Carl and sitting down cross legged next to his chair. "You won't give him anything to hurt me will you?" she asked with puppy dog eyes.

Carl stuttered something out about hoping he wouldn't have to make that choice anytime soon.

Mary watched with a twisted smile on her face. She couldn't wait for Hikari to see how amazing it was to be like this.

 

Van Helsing bit his lip and clenched his fists, ignoring Jinx. "Stupid little vampire," he muttered under his breath.

Dracula's expression became unreadable as he crushed Hikari against his chest with one arm, showing her how strong he really was. "You seem to be the kind of woman that enjoys pain," he murmured dangerously against her ear. "You should be careful what you desire, little Hikari."

Hikari's breath caught in her throat when she heard the vampire whispered her name that she hadn't given aloud, her tried her best to show no sign of fear. "Do it," she whispered back strongly. "I've had enough of this life."

Dracula paused for one moment at the woman's last comment, and then suddenly yanked back the shoulder of her dress, pushing his teeth deep into the flesh beneath her collarbone. He held her still and didn't flinch when he felt her nails dig scratches into the back of his neck.

Hikari let out a cry of pain but smiled and threw back her head, pushing at the back of the vampire's head to sink his fangs in deeper. Her head spun and she barely held onto her consciousness as he pulled his fangs away from her and let her fall to the floor.

She sat up slowly on her knees, putting a hand to the wound on her chest, marveling at how it had already healed into tiny pinpricks despite the blood that had stained her dress.

"God..." she muttered, looking around her. "This is..." She faded off, not finding a word that suited her new eyesight.

 

Jinx laughed at him. "Stupid little human." she countered, thinking to herself Angel in the place of human. She had a feeling he'd pick it up but was smart enough not to say it outloud for the others.

Carl rolled his eyes at them. "You two are like children." he scolded.

Mary's smile widened. "It is, isn't it." she kept her voice level but her excitement was rising again. Her mind zipped around to all the possiblites the two of them had now.

BIC: Van Helsing glared at Carl, ignoring Jinx again. "Shouldn't you go clean out the horses' stalls?" he snapped.

Dracula swallowed and watched the two in front of him for a moment. She has spirit, he thought. But I don't see anything special besides her wit... and that Mary... well, we'll see...

Hikari stood up, a sudden idea in her mind. She rushed at the nearest wall and spun, her right fist extended. She had no fear of pain for some reason, and laughed happily when she smashed a foot-deep hole into the wall, exploding tile and stone everywhere in a cloud of dust.

"Now, now, ladies," Dracula began, crossing his arms. "Despite your... exuberant attitudes you need to listen to me for a moment... details and politics must be discussed."

 

Mary turned to him and walked up closer to keep herself from getting distracted. "Yes?" she asked, focusing on what would probably dictate their new lives.

"Sure, if you want me inturupt Bee doing whatever she's up to." Carl shook his head. "I'm not getting on her bad side."

 

"Don't be scared to be alone with her," Van Helsing sighed. "What's she going to do to you, Carl? You're so... innocent in your own little way."

Edward couldn't help but snort under his breath as he waited for Hannah' response.

Dracula began in his smoothest of tones: "The reasons I've gathered you here, my dears, is we have an enemy against us. None of you have been aware of him or his allies because of your naive human lives, but now that you're here, you must know of this threat. As you can see, vampires are not the vicious, mindless, ugly, disgusting creatures you paint us to be. Rather, we are beautiful, powerful, graceful beings that never take more than their fill. Some of us are even righteous enough to only feed on criminals and murderers of the human world (*cough* lestat *cough*). But there are some that hunt us, purely because they think they are better than us... because of the minuscule fact that they are human."

 

Mary looked confused. "But that's ridiculous, after being vampire for only a few minutes i can so easily tell you it's better. What is it you want us to do?" she asked, a slight hope blossoming in her that they would fight off these hunters if they were a threat to the man who had freed them from their lives.

Carl frowned but stood up. "I suppose it can't hurt." he agreed, wanting some air anyways.

"Yell if you have any trouble." Jinx called after him, still sitting next to his abanonded chair.

 

"Or just make sure you don't make enough noise to attract the villagers!" Van Helsing shouted back. He suddenly stood up and went to sit on top of Jinx, holding his arms over his chest again.

D looked over from the fireplace and frowned, but didn't say anything.

"I've tried my best to conquer the evil of these hunters on my own," Dracula continued. "But for thousands of years I've had no such luck. The worst of our enemy is named Van Helsing, a butcher of those that he deems unsuitable to live in this world. He has gathered numbers with him, powerful allies, some of which are even vampires that have betrayed their kind to fight against us.

"The truth is, I need your help, my children. You will become powerful beautiful, and immortal, and I shall become your master and ruler... and together we can destroy those that wish to exterminate us!"

 

"What's wrong D?" Jinx asked curiously, seeing him frowning. She pushed on one of Van Helsing's shoulders to send him onto the floor and off her lap. (lol sit on her?! XD i love u hannah. that is foony)

"We will be by your side." Mary promised, seeing the whole picture he'd layed out in her head.

 

OOC: yeah i thought why not? XD oh and dracula totally should have had a classroom set up with a projector and slideshow of pics to support his story... and had all the girls dress up in schoolgirl outfits!! hahahahaaaa!!

BIC: Van Helsing swore under his breath and stood up, quickly marching out of the room and down the hall.

D quickly cleared his facial expression and shrugged one shoulder slightly. "This is all very odd for me," he commented shortly a moment later.

Hikari nodded. "Thought I'm sure," she began, "that we really don't have much of a choice anyway."

Dracula chuckled deeply under his breath. "True, my sweet," he grinned. "Though I'm sure you'll find this just as much fun as anything else you've done before."

 

OOC: ooh yummy, lets do it! haha

BIC:Jinx nodded. "It's odd for us as well, I'm sorry if you're uncomfortable. Excuse me a minute..." she added, getting up to follow Van Helsing. "Are you angry?" she asked, catching up.

"Any thing 'fun' is more fun than what we've done." Mary spoke up, looking back at the other women before meeting Dracula's eyes. "When will you teach us what we can do?" (*readies school girl outfit* haha jk! don't kill me!)

 

OOC: lol kill you?? that would be... awesome! although the events following would probably get us banned from the site DX

BIC: Van Helsing kept walking. "I'm fine," he muttered vaguely under his breath.

"When I return," Dracula commented. "In the meantime, feel free to... play wherever you wish." He was not in the mood to turn the other twenty-odd girls. Let them all marvel at Hikari and Mary for a while... make them want it all the more.

"And where are you going, master?" Hikari questioned, hoping to get an answer when she used the title.

"You'll see," Dracula answered shortly, and turned on the spot, disappearing from the castle foyer.

 

Mary wasn't ready to call anyone master but she watched him leave respectfully. "Let see what we can do." she suggested eagerly.

Jinx kept pace with him for alittle while. "No you're not..." she sighed. "but if you don't want to talk, i'll leave you be." she stopped walking, for once not pressing for answers. not directly anyways

 

OOC: ooh this could get ugly or very... dirty XD

BIC:Van Helsing stopped as well and turned to face her. "No pleading and prying for answers?" he asked. "Odd..."

Hikari nodded and gave all the mortal girls a quick wink before looking to Mary again. "Give me your best punch," she suggested quickly, the vampire venom in her veins adding to her viciousness. "Now!"
