Van Helsing (Cont.)

Van Helsing looked over at Beatrice and frowned. He could tell the girl wanted to go, and didn't know if anyone could stop her.

Dracula took another step toward Beatrice, only two feet from her now. He reached out a hand and flicked his wrist slighty... and suddenly Edward slid violently across the floor to slam into the wall once more, knocking all the wind and fight out of him.

"I'll let him be," Dracula said to Beatrice, "if you'd just... come with me and listen to what I have to say. If it's something you don't want, you can go wherever you please. What do you have to lose?"

Dracula saw Hannah move, crouched and ready to jump, out of the corner of his eye and raised his other hand toward her. She was suddenly lifted up three feet off the ground, invisible fingers choking and crushing her windpipe.

"What do you say... little Bee?"​

 

Edward managed a small groan, wishing he could use his arms.

Maybe if I just gather enough strength to turn again... then I could heal, right? But how long will it take... what will Bee do in the meantime?

 

"Beatrice..." Hannah managed, her voice ragged. "Don't."

Beatrice looked from Edward to Hannah, her face clearly showing the conflict of the decision.

Michael's eyes flickered open, slowly registering the sideways scene before him. He pushed himself to stand and then ran to Beatrice, took her by the arm and pulled her away from Dracula, mistaking the situation.

"Stop!" Beatrice cried suddenly. "I'll do what you want," She addressed Dracula. "Just don't hurt them anymore."

 

"Dammit Beatrice, think before you make rash choices!" Jinx growled under her breath. She flashed Van Helsing a look before tightening her hold on her dagger. She knew she couldn't take him on her own but she raised her weapon and drove it into the back of his neck as she moved behind him. Someone kill him now... she thought, knowing he could tear her apart if he really wanted to.

 

Van Helsing jerked forward at Jinx's sudden move, unsure what the vampire's reaction would be. It couldn't possibly harm him... could it?

Dracula let out a shriek, spinning on the spot to grab Jinx's wrist, flinging her over his shoulder and onto her knees in front of him. He reached up with his other hand, yanking her dagger out of the base of his spinal cord.

"You're a strong one, too," he said, twisting Jinx's wrist almost to a breaking point as he licked his own blood off the blade. "Whoever made you was strong as well... I can feel it in your blood, just under your pale skin..."​

 

"Let her go," Hannah growled, her mind slowing from the lack of oxygen. She didn't need to breath, but it was very unpleasant not to.

"Please," Beatrice pulled against Michael's strong hold. "Stop! Don't hurt her..."

 

OOC: lol dracula has three hands now... *cough*.... JUST GO WITH IT!!!

BIC:

Dracula sighed and threw Hannah away from him, letting her slide along the stone floor away from the group.

"Bee," he began softly. "I know you can break away from that weak creature... come here and I'll let your talented friend go."​

 

Hannah sat up, shaking her head. Dracula was strong, she'd give him that much.

Beatrice turned her eyes up to Michael.

After a moment, Michael let go of Beatrice. "I will intervene if I have to. Whether you like it or not."

Beatrice gave Michael no answer. She turned her back to him and walked to Dracula, trying her best to keep her mind clear.

 

Van Helsing raised his weapon to his eyes, aiming as carefully as he could at Dracula's wrist... and fired. He clenched his fists as the vampire let go of Jinx to pull the arrow out of his arm. The hunter rushed forward, grabbed Jinx by the arm, and yanked her back with him.

"You okay?" he asked.

Dracula smiled, not really concerned with Jinx anymore. He extended a hand to Beatrice as she came toward him, the wound on his wrist already healed.

"You're a smart girl," he whispered, giving her a small smile. "Home is where you belong... and I can take you there."​

 

OOC: hahaha, i love Dracula's third arm ^^

BIC:Jinx grabbed the wrist Dracula had hurt and grit her teeth. "Yes." she muttered back at Van Helsing, looking at Beatrice unblinkingly. She could see Bee's decision becoming final, which frightened her more than Dracula did.

 

Beatrice lifted a hand and then drew it back, still a bit frightened.

Hannah got to her feet and hurried over to Edward, not bothering herself with Beatrice. "Edward," She placed a hand on his cheek.

 

Van Helsing made sure he stood close to Jinx, and whispered in her ear: "I dont' think there's anything we can do to stop her decision... if she really is as powerful as he says..."

"Come, little Bee," Dracula crooned, keeping Michael in the corner of his gaze, just in case. "Whatever you'd like, I promise."​

 

"Of course she's that powerful, she's a newborn and from that stupid Lestat." Jinx queitly replied, watching Bee make her decision. Please say no... please think...

 

Beatrice thought of her mother and father back at home. Sorin would certainly like to be back in the familiar feild, she knew. Home was what she wanted more than anything, and the chance to go back was so tempting. She reached out an took Dracula's hand.

Van Helsing tensed, angry there was nothing he could do.

Dracula grinned brightly, his pointed teeth touching his bottom lip. "Good girl," he murmured, pulling Beatrice close to him. "Say goodbye to your friends."​

 

"Beatrice, think!" Michael burst out. "How can you trust this leech? How do you know that he'll not ask for something from you?"

 

Beatrice looked back at Michael. "I'm sorry. I just can't do this anymore...."

 

Jinx took a slow breath and then stepped away from VAn Helsing to stand closer, although still at a distance, from Bee. "Beatrice... if you leave, you do realize that you'll be fighting us, don't you?" she asked, softly.

 

"No," Beatrice replied icely. Her tone softened, "I'll be leaving the fight. That's the point. I don't want... I can't take this... It's too much. I just want to be back with my parents and work on the farm."

 

"I really doubt it's your choice anymore, despite what you want." Jinx replied, still softly.
