"Does she?" Hannah muttered acidly at Edward. "I know how easy it is to be swayed by a vampire stronger than you."

"N-not really," Beatrice answered Lestat, a bit perturbed by what Hannah said.

"I'm not saying it's a bad thing," Hannah continued quietly. "But it can be sometimes. And I don't think Bee really knows what's best yet. I still don't."

 

"You enjoyed every minute of our time together, Hannah," Lestat shot at the vampire over Beatrice's shoulder. "Everyone here knows that. Now..." he turned back to Beatrice. "You have to be a little thirsty... what if I told you that my blood could help you defeat any monster in this castle?"

 

I trust Lestat, Edward said. He gave me the means to save your life, Hannah! I know you should feel the same!

 

"That's not my point, Edward," Hannah argued, flustered by the memories that Lestat stirred up. "Bee isn't ready for all this. She should have stayed with Michael at Anna's castle."

"I want to do it by myself though," Beatrice objected.

 

It's the only point, Edward muttered stubbornly.

 

"Oh, it will be on your own, little Bee," Lestat reassured her. "I'm just giving you a hand... here..." He held his wrist up to her face, brushing the soft, white skin along her cheek. "You'll like it... I promise."

 

"No," Beatrice refused stubbornly, breathing through her mouth. "I appreciate you're trying to help, Lestat, but I want to do it by myself."

I don't want her to get hurt... Hannah sighed, not wanting to say the words aloud.

 

She's really got her mind set on what she wants. Michael raised an eyebrow. But she's going about this all wrong.

 

Van Helsing raised his bow on Lestat now as well. Edward, tell that b.astard to leave her alone.

 

No, Edward shot at Van Helsing stubbornly. I will not.

 

"Really, now?" Lestat asked, giving Beatrice a surprised look. "What do you plan on doing... on your own?"

 

"I'll think of something," Beatrice muttered.

 

"Sounds like quite the plan," Lestat teased, lowering his wrist and stepping away from Beatrice slightly. "Oh, you'd do best to save those for your Dracula," he added to Van Helsing and Anna with their weapons. "Won't do you much good here. Little Bee," he added once more. "You know I can only try to help you so many times, yes?"

 

"I'm sorry," Beatrice apologized to Lestat. "I just don't feel like it would really be me helping if I accepted your offer."

Anna glared at Lestat, keeping her gun raised. She knew silver bullets could incapacitate vampires for a while, and this one seemed to be quiet a bother a the moment. She wasn't about to let her guard down.

"Relax," Hannah rolled her eyes, speaking to Anna. "If wanted to kill you, he would have done it already."

 

Jinx crossed her arms over her chest. "We're wasting time." she muttered. "By now he could be gone if he wanted to." she was silently glad Bee had decided aganist Lestat's blood.

 

"I don't like that one," Lestat muttered, pointing at Jinx before turning back to Beatrice. "If you need me, you can ask," he said softly, brushing the side of her cheek with the back of his hand. "But don't always expect an answer."

 

"I know," Beatrice answered. She didn't want Lestat to leave, but she also wanted to do this on her own. I'm digging my own grave, I just know it. She thought to herself and then looked at Jinx. "I think we should get going, too."

 

Jinx couldn't help but smile alittle to herself at Lestat's comment. She looked back at Bee, "Good." she paused, before turning to head up the stairs again. "Bee? No one here is alone, don't worry."

 

"Farewell, little Bee," Lestat muttered, and gave Hannah a little wink before turning on the spot and disappearing.

 

"Now we can go, yes?" Van Helsing sighed, lowering his weapon and turning up the stairs.
