Van Helsing (Cont.)

"I'm about three hundred years older than all of you," Michael explained. "Even if you don't think so, I do know what I'm talking about."

 

"Are you okay?" Van Helsing asked Jinx quietly. "I've been meaning to ask you something, but I haven't had time..."

 

"Let her be, Michael," Edward snapped dangerously, throwing the lycan a dirty look.

 

"Hm?" Jinx turned to him slightly as they walked. "I'm fine, just alittle hyped up I guess. What did you want to ask me?"

 

"What's happening with Will?" Van Helsing asked. "Is he still here, nearby or... something?"

 

Jinx's expression became solem and she nodded. "I'm still alive aren't I?" came her quiet answer. "But let's concentrate on Dracula. I doubt Will will bother us for the moment." I hope he won't anyway. she added to herself.

 

Beatrice grit her teeth and walked ahead of Michael. Just because he's old doesn't mean he knows everything.

Hannah patted Beatrice's shoulder. "Don't worry about it."

Anna was still astounded by the relationship between each member of the group.

 

"I just wanted to make sure," Van Helsing said. "Because he's been silent for a while now..."

 

"Yeah, maybe he'll stay away for over a century again." Jinx mused, wishfully but disbeliving. "I could deal with that." she gave him a quick smile as they climbed the stairs.

 

"You brought you little friends with you, Hannah? You're such a trouble maker."

Hannah's head snapped up to see Aleera standing at the top of the stairs. A snarl ripped through her bared fangs. "Come over here, Aleera, and I'll show you real trouble." As sick as she felt, Hannah's hate towards Aleera made ripping her apart more of a priority than worrying about not feeling well.

Anna aimed her gun at Aleera, but was denied the chance to shoot when Hannah looked back at her with peircing black eyes.

"She's mine," Hannah growled at Anna.

 

Jinx's attention tore away from Van Helsing to the bride infront of her. A growl similar to Hannahs' sounded in her throaght and she took a step foward.

 

"Don't!" Hannah snapped sharply at Jinx. "I want to make her pay for all she's done with my own hands. No one touches her but me."

Anna lowered her gun, a siver running through her at the black malice that coated Hannah's voice.

 

Jinx's eyes narrowed and her eyes flashed from Hannah to Aleera. "Fine. Don't get killed." she finally growled, not moving away but staying still so Hannah could do what she wanted.

 

Van Helsing ignored Hannah's cries of warning and pulled out his bow anyway, cocking back the mechanism and aiming at Aleera. He shot her twice in the arm, managing to not hit Hannah very narrowly.

 

"Don't!" Edward snapped, and dove at Van Helsing, slamming his full body weight into his shoulder. They both tumbled halfway down the stairs, Edward punching Van Helsing's hand in the process, knocking his bow away and into a corner.

"You could have hit her!" Edward snarled, finally skidding to a stop and pinning Van Helsing underneath him. "Are you crazy?"

 

Aleera pulled out the arrows and let them drop to the floor.

Hannah saw her chance when Aleera was distracted for the few seconds that it took her to remove the arrows. She charged at Aleera and tackled her through the window. As the two fell to the bridge below, they separated. Hannah landed on her arm, hearing it snap.

Aleera had transformed and landed elegantly in front of Hannah. "I have to thank you for brining the princess to us." She sneered at Hannah.

Hannah dragged herself to stand up, cracking her arm back together. "She doesn't mean anything to me." Hannah growled back, her lycan senses feeling every tiny movement that Aleera made.

Beatrice was taken aback by Hannah's sudden action. She ran over to the broken window and looked below to see Hannah and Aleera in a face off.

"We've got to go!" Anna yelled at the boys. "She's buying us time to get to Dracula."

 

"She's fine!" Van Helsing grunted, shoving at Edward to no avail; he could see the werewolf's eyes turning red. "She's stronger than both of us, Edward! Get off me!"

 

Edward sighed and swallowed a growl, rolling off of Van Helsing and standing, breathing heavily.

"I will not leave her with that b.itch of a monster!" Edward snapped at Jinx. "I don't care how much you need me for Dracula; Hannah stays with me!"

 

Lestat frowned and shrugged at Will, as if he didn't care what happened.

"I'm going after my littlest child," Lestat muttered, stepping up to the mirror and grinning as the glass melted before his touch. "Just in case..."
