Van Helsing (Cont.)

Edward took Beatrice's hand as she stepped through to guide her over the ice and snow.

"Where's Michael?" he asked her. "He's staying behind, right?"

 

"I think i see where they are. Or at least one of them." Jinx answered, quietly, her eyes still on the window.

Will looked up at the castle. "Seems like they've finally left." he agreed. "I wonder who will come out of that alive."

 

"That's not a problem is it?" Michael asked, coming fully through the mirror now.

 

"I want him to come," Beatrice said to Edward, her stubborn teenager side showing in her voice and body language.

"We need everyone we can get," Anna stated after Michael was through.

 

Van Helsing nodded at Edward, and then followed Jinx's gaze.

"One of who?" he asked. "A bride? Dracula?"

 

"Alright," Edward agreed warily, letting Beatrice go. "If you trust him, Bee, I'll let you do what you think is right."

 

"I'm tempted to follow them," Lestat murmured, almost to himself. "Just to watch the fun... make sure my little children look after themselves..."

 

Jinx nodded, "One of them. I think it's probably a bride, from how it's moving." she looked away from the window to him. "Everyone ready?"

"That could be fun. I'd like to see how this Dracula holds out." Will mused, already turning to look up at a window above them.

 

"Trust is something earned not given," Beatrice muttered. "Let's just go."

Hannah looked back at Michael. She could tell he had a lot to talk to her about but didn't want to say anything with Edward around. She smiled as best she could, wanting to get rid of the worry that was clear in his expression.

 

"It's okay, Beatrice," Michael assured her. "You don't have to stand up for me."

 

"Yeah," Van Helsing replied. "Let's go."

 

Edward took Hannah's hand as they walked, determined to keep her close to him.

"I don't mind," he spoke to her, reading her thoughts. "The cold in your skin... it doesn't bother me."

 

Lestat shut his eyes, imagining the room where he had visited Beatrice, and opened his a moment later to find himself standing in it, barely a hair moved on his head.

He walked out of it and into the foyer, his eyes on the mirror in front of him, his reflection looking back at him happily. He took the time to fix his ponytail, redo the ruffled handkerchief of his collar, and flash himself a large grin and wink in the shining glass.

Little Bee, he commented suddenly. You be careful in there... I looked devishly handsome right now and would hate to come in there and rescue you right away.

 

"I still feel bad about it," Hannah murmured.

Beatrice walked next to Michael, wondering why he bothered to come along this far.
I can handle it. Beatrice replied to Lestat.

"There's a problem. How do we get through those?" Anna asked, gesturing towards the giant, metal doors.

 

"I could open it," Michael began. "With Hannah's help."

 

"Can't we..." Van Helsing began, but then fell silent, feeling a little uncomfortable.

 

"Go ahead," Edward said, letting go of Hannah reluctantly. "It's okay."

 

"It's just a door, let's get it open or get in a window." Jinx said, looking up at the window she'd been eyeing ealier. Now she could clearly see a figure in it. "Before they come down here." she added, anxiously.

Will crouched down and then jumped up into the window to land next to Lestat. He examined the mirror infront of him. "Ah, is that how they get there? Interesting."

 

Hannah walked with Michael to the doors. "They're too big. We can't move them." She told him quietly, not wanting the others to hear.

 

"Michael," Van Helsing said, looking to the lycan. "Hannah... sometime soon, please!"
