Van Helsing (Cont.)

Van Helsing immediately turned to Jinx. "Are you alright?" he asked quickly. "I would have shot, but I didn't want to hurt you instead; you both were moving so fast!"

 

"I'm not giving up on him that easily," Anna argued.

"It would be best if we got back to Anna's place," Michael said. "The werewolf is gone, but I don't think the people of this town will be very friendly to Jinx."

 

"Come with us, then," Van Helsing sighed. "You want to finish Dracula like your brother obviously couldn't? We'll go through that mirror once night falls and finish this."

He turned to Michael and nodded. "Let's get going then," he spoke, and stepped up to Jinx, wrapping an arm around her and leading her forward toward the castle.

 

Anna watched Van Helsing and Jinx, wondering why exactly Van Helsing had been so kind to her.

 

Michael brought up the rear of the group, keeping his senses open for any sign of Velkan.

 

"Edward's pissed again," Van Helsing muttered, almost to himself. "That won't be great for when we go through that mirror."

 

"Let him calm down," Michael suggested. "He can't stay mad at me forever."

 

This is more twisted than I'd thought... Anna mused. They're the oddest group with many problems.

 

"Watch him stay mad for the rest of his immortal life," Van Helsing laughed. "It won't be that hard for him... he's a little sensitive."

 

Michael sighed and rolled his eyes. "I noticed."

 

Jinx sighed, "If Edward's mad, Hannah will be too." she said, almost to herself. "But mad or not, we need to get through that mirror."

 

"If he can't focus he can't come," Van Helsing stated. "It's that simple."

 

"He'll focus," Michael said. "He knows what's best."

 

Edward entered the castle again, walking past a confused Carl and back to Hannah's room.

"A werewolf," he explained quickly to both Hannah's and Beatrice's worried looks. "Anna's brother was bit... and Van Helsing wants to kill it, of course." He went and sat down on the bed quickly, sighing.

 

"I hope so," Van Helsing replied as they reached the castle.

 

"We need him, whether he can focus or not." Jinx replied, firmly. "Who else is going to kill Dracula if he's not there?"

Carl rubbed his forehead. "So that's why he took off..." he sighed. "So now what? Anna's angry with him for trying to kill her brother?"

Will listened to the fight, yelling, and eventually voices fading away towards the castle. "Well that was interesting. Looks like that girl form the castle's got some family problems. That could be very useful... or just entertaining."

 

Hannah pushed herself to sit up. "Wait... Anna's brother? But she said he was killed."

"She lied," Beatrice muttered, folding her arms and leaning against the wall.

 

"She thought he was," Edward corrected. "I tried to catch him, but Van Helsing is an idiot and Michael... don't get me started on that b.astard."

 

"Edward," Hannah sighed. "Michael is doing what he can to help. I'm glad he's here. It's... comforting to know that I'm not the only lycan..."

Beatrice rolled her eyes. How can do that? Always feel so sorry for herself. She's not the only one with problems.
