Van Helsing (Cont.)

Lestat paused, stopping his trek and placed John's body on the ground by his side. Nothing I can do, he muttered. Just rest like your friend said.

 

OOC: woah u guys were full of epicness last night huh? sorry i ran off so fast...

BIC: Jinx looked at the place where Lestat had vanished, "Can we move him to a room?" she asked, concerned.

"We can do that." Carl agreed. "Why don't you just rest for now anyway, just to be safe?"

 

"Get away," Hannah snarled at Van Helsing.

"Hannah," Michael began. "Now isn't the time to let your anger get the best of you."

"Shut up!" Hannah yelled. "Don't talk to me like I'm some kind of animal!"

Anna's eyes widened. What just happened...? She mused in amazment.

 

Van Helsing backed away anyway, putting his hands in the air slightly. "Alright," he began carefully. "Someone has to move him somewhere, though. He can't stay on the floor covered in blood."

 

Edward could vaguely hear the voices spoken around around him, his eyelids seemingly glued shut by the pain in his body. He gripped Hannah's hand tighter now, wanting to stand and stop everyone's bickering.

 

Lestat placed John's body in the nearest ditch he could find, careful not to get too much dirt and mud on his silk and leather clothing. He hunkered down and reached for John's right arm, shutting his eyes as he ripped it from its socket, tossing it to the other end of the ditch. Once he'd done the same with his other limbs, Lestat threw the vampire's head to another end of the ditch before covering the parts with a thin layer of dirt.

"I told you you couldn't beat him, my friend," Lestat grunted happily, standing above the ditch now and admiring his work. "If only you'd listened and let the girl go."

A fire, he thought to himself now. Hot enough to blaze this ditch to bits but not strong enough to raise above the edge and continue into the forest. I'll thank the Queen of the Damned for those powers...

Lestat left the hole in the ground blazing behind him to burn out on its own.

Little Bee, he thought as he walked away. I told you I'd come visit you tonight... get that dreadful friar friend of yours out of your room.

 

Hannah looked back at Edward, her anger vanishing. "Edward, squeeze my hand if you want to go to a room." She said gently.

Of all the things that could happen now... Anna mused.

Beatrice smiled at Carl. "Okay," She paused. "Could you... go tell the others for me then? I'd like to be alone."

 

Jinx watched Hannah talk to Edward and then looked at Anna, wondering what she thought of all of this. At least she hasn't pointed a gun at anyone...

Carl smiled back at her. "Alright. I'm sure they'll be glad to hear you're not hurt anymore." He stood up and left the room.

 

Edward tried to shake his head but couldn't find the muscles to move it. "Can... stand..." he managed to whisper, though he wasn't sure if the words actually came out understandibly.

 

"Just let me pick him up," Van Helsing began, taking a tenative step forward.

 

Lestat chuckled to himself as he walked, floating near the castle. He shut his eyes, seeing Beatrice in her bed a few stories above him. With little effort, he held his breath momentarily and then found himself on the bed next to the girl, laying on his side and resting his arm on his knee.

"Hello, little one," he said softly, grinning and winking at her. "Good job."

 

Hannah glared at Van Helsing. "Stay back."

Beatrice squeaked in suprise. "Thanks," She managed to stutter out, rubbing the back of her head.

 

"You can carry him, then?" Van Helsing snapped, though he stepped away once again, this time to stand next to Jinx. "You know I'm not angry with him; he's the one with the problem."

 

Edward groaned, pushing himself carefully up onto his elbows. He spat another mouthful of blood onto the floor, resisting the urge to gag and pass out. He turned his head shakily to look at Hannah.

"I... want.. to... w-walk," he stuttered, though her worried face swam before him as he strained to keep it clear.

 

Lestat smiled wider and Beatrice's reaction. "You must thank me for something else, though," he added, his voice low as he reached out a hand toward her face. He pushed a stray strand of her blonde hair off her cheek, letting it hang over into his palm. "Do you know what I mean?"

 

Jinx watched Edward stand up worriedly, glad Van Helsing had backed off.

Carl walked down the hall ways, looking around for the others. He heard voices down a hall and followed them.

 

Hannah supported Edward for a moment before her knees buckled.

Michael moved at blinding speed to catch Hannah in one arm and hold up Edward with the other.

Hannah pushed away from Michael. "It's just a headache," She murmured.

"Hannah," Michael began carefully. "You need help. Let us help you."

Hannah scowled in resentment. "Fine." She ignored the steadily growing pain throughout her, refusing to worry about anything until Edward was fine.

Beatrice tilted her head in thought, gazing blankly at the wall.

 

Jinx stepped over to Hannah. "Here, I'll help you, alright?" she offered, not touching her yet incase she lashed out.

Carl came in and looked around, suprised by the odd scene. What the?

 

Van Helsing frowned and stayed out of the way, keeping his mouth shut.

 

Edward didn't want to lean on Michael but had no choice, weakly draping his arm around the man. "Thank... you..." he managed to choke out.
